You obviously don't get it. You gave it all away when you tried to say you wore your arm out shifting.

Always keep an eye out for a different path.
I was in the market for a new to me truck and was shopping, I found what I wanted one of those big kenworths but then for some reason thinking about it I pulled the trigger on a dump truck instead. Only wish I did it years earlier.
However your fate is bound to the whims of construction in the dump business.

Theres lots tougher work t do then truck driving, thats why I drove. I tasted a little of lots of fields in my time and driving was easier imo.
Sure beat's working in factory's or the boredom of retail.

If your arm never ached from shifting you hadn't worked hard and long enough.
You don't get it from one long day

I started my career pulling a gravel train. (Double dumps, 11 axles.)
It was seasonal work, had to have a winter job also. Ended up getting out of that end of the industry.

I just missed one of those drunks Tues. night. He drove 10-12 miles down the expressway on the wrong side, until he hit a guardrail head on. Car caught fire. Arrested for drunk driving. Luckily he is the only one that got hurt.

Tried it, can't stand just sitting there.

Here's a hint for the next time you want to lie to people about truck driving. Tell them you hurt your arm steering. Trucks didn't used to have power steering, so it's at least a legitimate gripe.

No one who knows how to shift has ever hurt their arm from it. It's harder to pull the 5th wheel pin or crank down crusty landing gear than shifting....

Factory and retail is much easier than foodservice, freight, and steel. They have 8 hour shifts. Delivery drivers have 14 hour shifts. They have to work the freight. They have to secure the load.

If you were ever around trucking, it's sort of obvious that the only thing you dealt with were dump truck drivers.

If your arm hurt, you must not know how to float, or use the clutch. No wonder you don't know anything about the trucking industry, you probably got fired after blowing up your second transmission in a week.

Nowadays the gravel train guys just wait for unemoloyment, like the trip axle drivers do over here. Boring ass job, hauling dirt and rock....

Yeah mine never shifted by itself using the clutch or without using the clutch
When I bought the auto shift it did though.
I wish you were there to show me.

My first driving job was flat bed, on "occasion" I had to 'secure' the load.
Your not the only one here who drove a truck.
Would you rather drive a truck or be bent over all day laying tile, or hanging drywall?

Dump truck drivers spend a lot of time at either end waiting and get to know one another.
You arrive at the job site or at the quarry early, then stand around and shoot the :shit:.
Then at each end you run into each other again often times having to wait.
It's not a bad job at all.

Couldn't stand it when I did it, bunch of inbred trailer trash. Never got the point of cb radios in trucks, better equipment available now.
