Effective 2013, Pitt Ohio will not provide health insurance to spouses of employees who have a plan offered by their own employers. Non-working spouses and those with jobs where health insurance is not available will not be affected.
My Wife works for a non-profit organization and the insurance coverage offered by them is marginal and cost prohibitive when compared to her salary. There was no mention of employees having an option of adding spouses to the Pitt Ohio plan for a premium. The solution for our family will be that my Wife will have to quit her job of 17 years or go without health insurance.
