FedEx Freight | health insurance

Look at you poor souls squabbling over what our self insured company has thrown to us. Please see http://www.truckingboards.com/bb/threads/are-you-guys-really-falling-for-this-healthcare-bs.51410/ from 2.5 years ago. Let corporate America keep making the ACA the scapegoat. Fat cats laugh the whole way to the bank because of many of you who believe the spoon fed lies. FedEx is self insured....news flash. Half of my wife's treatments and procedures were "Not covered by your employer" or "Do not count towards your deductible", as told to me by the billing company. This IS one topic that if you don't have this **** poor insurance, just keep your yap shut and prevent looking like an ass. That whole line of bologna last year about our coverage not changing? Tell that to my bills for my long term care meds that were not covered as of January 1st 2016. Hell, tell that to half the guys at my terminal who were booted off long term meds. You cry babies were given an option to at least see what the Teamsters could bring to our table as far as healthcare (while having the option to tell them to **** off if it wasn't up to our/your standards) and you didn't want it. Reep what you've sewn. By the way, our healthcare also doesn't cover anal blockages due to cranium insertion. So, the whole lot of you are up the creek without a paddle.

You guys make me laugh. The topic is on our healthcare and you guys go all over the place with other things.
Admit it our healthcare is terrible. Whenever you go to a doctor you have to check to make sure it's covered. Words from cin "yea it changes daily". How many have gotten letters saying there prescription isn't covered anymore.
Now our deductible is up 380% over the last 5 years n your monthly premium up 64%. That's not including if you put into the flex spending. We average a 2% raise a year even though the cost of living is 4% so your loosing 2% already just with the cost of Living not including the deductible going up . It's all smoke and mirrors and alot of you have fell for the wizard until we have pulled the curtain back on them. SMH.

You and I finding what they do with the money to be "wrong" doesn't change ownership of the money. That's what we were disagreeing on, ownership. Not whether they were doing right/wrong or good/bad with it. My point is that if the money was "your money" you would be able to control what they did with "your money". I know I control what I do with mine. Once I give it to somebody else, I no longer have control on what they do with it.

True, who "owns" the money then?

It's far from terrible. It isn't a Rolls Royce, but it sure in the hell isn't some POS Mopar.

When you pay out of your pocket like some are and people are filing for bankruptcy and you have collection agents calling you 2/3 times a day. It's terrible. You must never had goid insurance before.

Perspective. Renegade. Perspective. Your health insurance kicks ass over the Bronze plan of the ACA. You have no idea how good you have it.

Perspective. Ex. Perspective. Teamcare wipes the floor with our "coverage". We don't have health insurance, we have a healthcare coupon. Since you're the expert, please list the differences. I'm sure you have access to our plan overview.

I have had a good health insurance. Back when I was with the Teamsters. I now pay $711.20 every month and then have $12,500 annual family deductible. Please tell me again how I don't know what crappy insurance is. FedEx Insurance isn't crappy.

I don't know what kind of medical insurance you are getting from fedex but mine is excellent. I don't know what kind of treatments your wife is getting, but all the treatments I have been getting have been covered and I have had many many treatments. As for prescriptions, again I don't know what you're getting but I still pay the same for all of my prescriptions and even get new ones and none of them are denied. Seems odd you talk about a billing company telling you about what's not covered but I've never dealt with a billing company before. It's always a bill from hospital or doctor. Just a suggestion, make sure you are going to in network hospital or doctors office.

All the doctors and nurses I have seen has told me what great health insurance I have and I happen to agree. Some of the horror stories I've been told by nurses would make your head spin on most people's insurance.

Yeah right it's great untill you get the bill.

I'm taking about fedex coverage smh

Cigna, Blue Cross, Anthem, Blue Shield. These are all companies who do billing and decide what to cover and what not to cover. They should be following FedEx's coverage rules but they don't. Try submitting a bill for a second or third time, don't be surprised if it gets covered when it was initially denied. These billing companies send you a summary of benefits after you see a doctor or have a procedure done. I always make sure to see an in-network provider. Both of those points are null against my argument. I am glad that you haven't had the bad fortune of having a procedure or medication denied. One med that was completely covered is now only covered for "45 days in every 90 day cycle". Code for "We're only gonna provide benefit for half your meds". The other two were flat out denied because of being name brand and there not being a generic equivalent. I'm not ignorant nor am I making these things up. Also, Ex, seems I looked up that bronze plan. In my state, I would pay about 15% more a month but actually make out in the long run on max out of pocket as well as prescription costs. I truly feel this is a move by FedEx to either A.) turn a profit from their self funded insurance or B.) force their employees to explore alternatives and stop using it altogether.

My wife has serious cardiac issues and has had numerous procedures done. I feel very fortunate to have the coverage that we have we have had fee issues with anything. .. go ahead bash away I am just grateful for what I have
Sorry for your wife but anybody can say anything that's not proving nothing.

Oddly enough, two of the three specialists' receptionists that I've encountered in the past year had remarked about how they're surprised we don't have better health coverage. There are many factors in coming to a conclusion about our insurance. There's a young man at my terminal who frequently says "We have great insurance, until you need to use it". I can not help but agree. I found it quite humorous when a KFFUF facebook page founder as well as a staunchly anti-union mechanic came to me crying the blues about how their HRA was wiped out in one visit and they were still left with a two thousand dollar bill. Couldn't have happened to nicer guys.
