I'm looking to drive for FedEx and have visited their website.

From what I gather ,,
the only way you can drive for FedEx is to be an Owner Operator, is that correct?
Do they get paid .52 cents a mile PLUS the hourly wage, am I reading that right?

Please clarify this for me.:duh:

thanks.

Fed Ex Freight, Fed Ex Express, and the newly formed Fed Ex National LTL are company drivers. FedEx Ground and Custom Critical are owner operators.

FedEx Freight linehaul drivers make .5211 c/pm in the northeast. I can't speak of anywhere else in the country. When not in the truck, it's 20.10 pr hr. City Drivers are also 20.10 pr hr. Easiest way is to go to
www.fedex.fedexfreight.com
Look up your state, under "Find locations" and find the center nearest you, and walk in to apply. #1 rule, is when filling out an application, have all your ducks in a row. Do not miss anything, or you will not be considered. Have any phone #'s of former employers, references. etc, etc.. with you.
Good luck. FedEx National LTL is also a possibilty. They were created today, after a buyout of Watkins Motor lines.

The owner operator div. is Fedex Ground Buster. They are a seperate division and yes being an owner operator is the only way you can drive for them in P & D or Linehaul

Why even concider!!! Road men can make a living.. But it takes at least 5 years to even get on the X-tra board. City drivers at 20.10. Plus Time and a half after 40.. The kicker the most hr they will give is about 39.9. After that. you could havr the next 3 days off. You'll never get the OT

Sorry for the delay - Custom Critical is the industry leader in expedited freight. Our pick up standard is 90 minutes from the time the order was placed. the customer pays for the entire truck - they can put as much freight as they can legally fit onto the truck. it will run non-stop door to door from pu to del and is constantly monitored. we notify the customer in the event of a delay or anything at all. we have cargo vans, straight trucks, tractor trailers, flatbeds, enclosed car carriers, open rack carriers and temperature controlled units as well. Everything from pharmaceuticals to fine works of art, uranium to munitions. we can provide armed escort, two trucks for one shipment, drivers with security clearances, temp assure service and charter planes for up to $400,000 if it is that important to move the freight. hope that helps a little.

At FedEx Freight Reno we are getting as many hours as we want up to what the law allows. Many getting double time (over 12 hours) every day. That's with 60+ local P&D drivers.
