New Penn | Help me understand this company

hey, big r guy, heres one for ya, here in camp hill, we load up all freight comeing to yrc for what ever reason, put it on trailer, usually a yrc trailer, and off to Carlisle it goes, what 10 miles away...2-4 loads a day, every day... most we get 5 bucks to pick up and yrc 125 bucks to line haul and del. , probably exagerateing a bit , but you get my drift..you don't have trailer there, so we use our own, now you come in drop one of yours and off you go with npme trailer...this happens over and over, so now theres 10 npme trailers in Carlisle sitting there empty that you wont bring back to us...i guess not cost effective...so , we are short trailers but still we wont send a bobtail up and bring them back, guess not cost effective for us either...so now we have road guys in balt amd Trenton and phila. getting paid an hour or more waiting for an empty...all because we gave yrc the use of our trailers that paid us damn near nothing...for freight that the shipper said no yrc comes in here to get, and other reasons ...so what do we have???? we now have a company...npme acting and operating as disfuctional as yrc freight..that is why the regionals operated at a 98 or and yrc at a 99 or for the 4th qtr... while every other ltl had good results 4th qtr wise but yrcw!!! this is operations not working, all your tech isn't going to fix this dumb ass
Need I say more?that goes on daily....nobody cares!!! all the while , with all my experience, I'm the lowest paid in the ltl industry...hhmmm, there is nobody at npme left, that they didn't fire to come and say, hey you got to vote to save npme for our family we have had!!! and you can tell cause nothing is efficient , its all disfuntional, and all just a bunch of lies about whats happing at npme, our reputation is slowing running out, thanks to the current management that is in place...howard , i hope you see what has been thrown into you lap, and it aint pretty!!!

Kind of goes back to things we have all said all along.
Doing things the way they were done 30 years ago.
No one wants to change anything.
Most afraid of change.
Cannot hire smart freight people,labor, or management, because of subpar salaries,and wages.
 
We are all just YRCW whipping dogs , it's the YRCW way buy good companies and then run them into the ground ! and don't forget -15% pay forever too !!
 
I havnt been here that long but you’d think a place with such low moral would try to improve it. We had a meeting this morning to tell us we lost 15 million dollars last year. Time to start looking again.
I found a link that kind of proves the loss, it wasn’t a profit loss New Penns OR was pretty good.
it was a revenue loss of 28 million. If you look at the list in the link below the revenue is broken down for each operating company, it could also explain the firing of Faust.

well something went wrong at npme or they wouldn't have fired faust!!! i mean really wrong cause we all know it went south soon as yrc took control..although , till faust swankee and collinsworth did there little " lets be another roadrunner, piece of :::shit::: company that's the way to do it," dance we still had npme people that knew how to move freight..its hard to believe we made any money as bad as we operate any more..if we did, this is an easy business....to lose 15 million, that's a lot for company our size anymore i would think, even as bad as we operate...not sure i believe that one...maybe down 15 mil over previous year..thats bad enough...but never fear...new penn nation... we have a new leadership and its going to take us to the top again!! so far, we have road runs out early every night and getting back early, ...should change the cycle and get city out and peddeling sooner, thus , a glimpse of the good old days..we will see...but for the life of me, i cant understand how you can fire faust and still keep swankee!!! they are one in the same...


they should have cleaned house of everybody at the penn Mr.. newton Mr. swankee and so on swankee don't know how to run a company still... and nothing changer its kind of funny as long I'm able to make a pay check who care anymore
 
Wait a second? Todd is a good person??? Is he not the same Todd that hired all the human garbage? Ya know the ones who were caught steeling from your comany....... Do you know what his position was before the Titanic set sail (The YRC takeover)??? Do some research, This guy has never seen the inside of a truck! He might be a nice guy to go out have a beer with but thats not going to save the ship from going down.

i beg to differ he's not a good man but i will say this he's a little more professional than Clyde was in talking to you on matters but will stab you in the back when given a chance
 
you're right. i met him after the acquisition by Roadway. he became the TM at 07 in 2005 i believe. he's currently a regional manager. bottom line i wouldn't blame him for this company's misfortune



all of us at new penn have to work by the book union book... safety is the key.. don't block roads stops are to tight to get in to with trailers send a smaller truck tomorrow.. work at a safe pace so you don't get hurt guys are running at Maspeth 15 stops and picks.. better them than me.... going to burn them selves out..... or worse..... they need us company cant people to fill the trucks stand firm
 
all the regional ones seem to be in dysfunctional state of mind right now ? is the end near ?
