Honesty Doesn't Pay Off For Ex-Homeless Man

Shame.

Honesty rewarded with something like this. How far does the $850 go for the guy? How much will the financial assistance he is denied be offset by the windfall of the found cash? This sounds like government going after pennies from the people who need them when there are real criminals stealing by willful misrepresentation and getting many time more that the $850 and getting nary a second look..

Yes go figure RacerX69 thought government was interested in our general well-being?
Maybe in some respects but not in this case.

He should have bought a share of Google stock.
Well to hide his fortune like a lot of rich folks do.

They know all your accounts and you don't even have to tell them.
Only way to hide is to go overseas accounts like the rich do.
Look at Romney comes to find out he's not a millionaire they say he's worth more than a Billion in mostly overseas accounts

The way people talk about all the hand outs you would think everyone's on easy street with a big income.
But it's not like that at all

I found a dollar last week , so that puts me in a higher tax bracket

I used to report all the change I would find on the sidewalk as income

. Now I simply look both ways, and if no one is looking I'll pick it up and put it in my pocket and not report it.

The heck with the IRS.
