How much overtime are the dock guys working at your terminal? At 671 it's 10 hours a day almost every day, now. 6th and 7 punches are available almost 5 days a week for the last 2 months. DS.

Ditto at 313 (milw.). For the ones who love ot they are in heaven (me for one).
But for others they are definately getting tired of it.
Do you guys have 60 hrs in 7 days.

one of the oldest guys that works on the dock is 63 years old he just got done with 7 16 hour days and most of the overtime gurus have worked almost every day since january
the rest of us like myself dabble in 10 or 12 hour days then opt for not working 6th or 7th
Great to here we are making money....
that has to be one of the best benefits OT...

Hey sarge.........is that some kind of rule or something?? At 671 we can be forced to work 50 hours per work week, +2 per day. Anything above that is voluntary. DS.

DS,
If you get into combination (dock driver) it`s 60 hours in seven days. At 859 the Sunday thru Thursday combination bids and unassigned try for 60 hours in five days for two days off.

WOW.......I guess I have a different way of looking at things. Right now, I like my time off from RDWY. The money is fantastic, don't get me wrong, but I got 20+ years to go. I want to leave in the best health I can, and enjoy my retirement. Even the best get wore out from the dock. DS.

Yard jockeys can work as much as they want also as long as they don't hit the street. If they hit the street then they are also limited to 60 hours per week.

Isn't 60 enough for EVERYONE !
Geez, I've been there ,done that .About 50 hrs is enough for me !!
Here with the busy season coming ,doing 90 + plus stops a day .Friday 100 stops and the holiday rush still isn't here yet
What can The Yellow of DHL do for you !!!

Mike342 I love that response. I hear it all the time at work because I usually go over 50 and try to max at 60.
If 50 is good for you, then good. Some people only want 40. And then some find it hard to show up to work at all (workmans comp and fmla).
However, I can live on 40 a week, but with a daughter in college and 2 others in elementary it sure makes things easier if when its available i can work some extra ot.

Ok next post will read this... How many guys are getting divorce or how many wifes taking care of the milkman:butthead: Oh yeah, the more you make the more child sport you pay.......hahahaha

Ot calming down here , the forced ot over for now! and just 2 or 4 no 6 or eight and nights seem to be limited to a 2 hour early start... also the organization has finally started the later part of this week i beleive we actually caught up with the freight. Thanks to the other terminals who helped no reason for the customer to suffer when a freight flow specialist makes a boo boo..

If you want a job and want all the OT you want come to 657. Mandatory 10 when you hit the clock and the OB needs help when you come in. Thanks but no thanks after being out on the street all day then come in and work the OB.

Don't mind some OT but I remember one guy who worked 7 days straight and was smiling like a gay guy @ the YMCA until Uncle Sam got
done with his:butthead: tax wise hhe said he won't do that again:hysterical:

Yea, SL..........."Sam" thanks you too, when you work all of that OT!! I worked as much as I wanted, before the bottom guys got laid off at 671. Until they are all put back on full time, they have to "draft" me, if they want me!! DS.

I remember the time I worked a holiday punch plus 45 hrs for the week. Needless to say I'll never do that silly stunt again. Uncle Sam ***** me big time, and don't ever believe the person how tells you.... You'll make it up at income tax time.. NOT!

working all that OT catches up to you and the next week you need to mark off cause your body needs a rest. Back in our younger days when we all thought we were invinceable and on the bottom working both Yellow & Roadway.
Can't do that no more as we get older we make the money and don't let the money make you.:weight_lift:
