It really feels good to be home. I miss cooking. This soul food got the house smelling FABULOUS!! I do NOT miss Denny's, 7-11, Subway, gas station burgers and wings. Even with a microwave and a fridge on my rig ... NOTHING beats being at home!!!
 
are you home, "for good",...meaning out of the business, or got yourself a more 'local" job....???

i too missed the MANY conveniences of home, such as you mentioned, eating REAL food, and CHEAPER than what is on the road....

actually, to be honest, i do like Subway, have one just 10 mins from the house, but i haven't been to a Denny's in a long time, and there is at least one in my area, about 20 mins from my house.

i think i "enjoy" the Subway shop sandwiches more while sitting in my tv room, rather in my truck or the Subway place.

but i REALLY enjoy, the freshly cooked hot dogs, from a vendor, outside the exit door at Lowe's and Home Depot, over the "overly cooked" dogs at most truck stops....
 
I'm home for good. I can scratch truck driving off my bucket list. Next, I'm thinking travel to New York and do this Statue of Liberty thing. I HATE statues!! They could have kept that creepy statue of Abe Lincoln with the googly eyes on 80!! I live in Las Vegas and driving by NY, NY Casino I have to turn my head!
 
I'm surprised you talked about food and Big Dave hasn't showed up yet. Won't take him long to sniff this thread out.

well then...i just posted in the food selfies, a sausage/gravy, i just made up for Sunday's breakfast...

What's that in that bottom pot, Jeff? I don't think I eat that. If it's pork ... I KNOW I don't!

It probably changed with the usergroup change, just put it back up

paid threads are in their own separate area and can't be put in the general area (like this forum)

Soul food without pork involved? Didn't think it existed. Gonna be making some split pea soup later this week, ham hocks will be used.
 
Ohhhhhh I'm hungry!!!
But I'm gonna go on the road to eat. Gonna swing by Medic's place and see what he's got in the smoker. Then stop by Jeff's and grab some of that cornbread. Head to RoadDust's for some biscuits, fried taters and dessert. Then maybe I'll head over to Pro's........not to eat, but harrass him a bit :)...
Then I'll take everything back to LAST
