Just take a good look at that new flyer that the IBT just put out. Talking about getting desperate now after Sean's letter and that GEB vote today. They had to reach out and fall back on the company's media... Fort Smith based Talk Business & Politics. Just how dumb and gullible do they think the ABF Teamsters are? If this doesn't prove that the IBT and company are in bed together... nothing does!!!

That's right... the IBT's running scared and having to rely on Arcbest's media to save the day by posting a company article saying how the union negotiators won the day...

Here's just an excerpt from ArcBest's Fort Smith based Talk Business & Politics hit piece that the IBT is relying on...

THE NEW DEAL

Labor leaders approved the deal on April 13, and ballots will be mailed to members on April 19. Votes are due May 8 and will be counted May 10, according to the union. If approved, the contract would run to June 30, 2023.

Following are key points of the contract according to Stephens and Teamsters information.
• Drivers will see a 30 cent per hour wage increase in 2018 (effective July), 35 cents per hour in 2019, 40 cents in 2020, 45 cents in 2021 and 50 cents in 2022.
• Dock workers will be paid $16.25 per hour in 2018, $16.50 in 2019, $16.75 in 2020, $17 in 2021 and $17.25 in 2022.
• Full-time employees will receive a one time $1,000 bonus (pre tax), and “casual” employees who have worked at least 300 hours between Sept. 1, 2017 and March 30, 2018 will receive a $500 bonus.
• Pension contributions and health care plans will be maintained under provisions set in the previous contract.

That's right... all you dock workers will see one hell of a pay cut... according to that article anyways. How's that for having their facts straight?

By the way... you can be expecting similar articles coming fro Logistics Management and DC Velocity in the very near future.

Here you go...
AHA, Ken Hall voted no. Likely as part of a plot to help get Hall elected as GP after Hooofah dies, retires or is forced out.

Plot: Hoffa wants his bud Hall to later replace him. Hoffa and Hall know that Hall could vote as if he cared about the members more than himself, and the "no" voters would still be in the minority. Which did happen. So during the next campaign, Hall can say something like "I fought for the members!!!!!! Vote for ME!!!!!!!!!!"

I think that the IBT is getting a little concerned that the contract might have a chance of actually getting rejected now seeing how they just released that flyer after that GEB vote boasting about that company oriented TBP saying how the union negotiators saved the day and all. That's sounds pretty desperate to me... now having to rely on the company's propaganda news source as a means of selling it to the members. First... it was Ernie... patting themselves on the back for a job well done... then Junior's minions at some of the Locals go to work selling it... and now this.

Let's start with the name of the article... "Report: New union contract may leave ABF Freight in ‘market share losing position’ and this statement.. "An April 13 investor note from Little Rock-based Stephens Inc. concludes that the agreement favors the Teamsters “more than what we previously expected.”

https://talkbusiness.net/2018/04/re...-abf-freight-in-market-share-losing-position/

This is the same Brad Delco that made this statement...

Brad Delco, analyst with Stephens Inc., said in a research note to clients that ArcBest has been largely successful in its decade-long diversification away from a unionized LTL carrier to a transportation solutions company offering a variety of services.

“ARCB continues to grow its non-asset business at a fast pace and it now accounts for 27 percent of revenue,” Delco said. “We view ARCB’s diversification away from its asset-heavy LTL business as a positive that should lead to multiple expansion and better margins going forward.”

This is what he told the investors in the research note...

He states that the ArcBest deal doesn't look favorable because it didn't receive any concessions on wages and health benefits. He did however admit that the rate of wage and health benefit increases were below market levels but the name of the article states the opposite. Just how can increases below market levels leave ABF Freight in ‘market share losing position’?

Then there's this statement where they didn't have the facts straight... "Dock workers will be paid $16.25 per hour in 2018, $16.50 in 2019, $16.75 in 2020, $17 in 2021 and $17.25 in 2022. Yes... it may seem trivial to some but it now makes one question just how many more discrepancies are in the article itself.

Then there's this statement which Judy has been harping on for about for 8 years now... "The two analysts estimate the contract, if approved in its negotiated terms, will result in a $150 million to $200 million annual cost disadvantage for ABF Freight compared to its competitors." By competitors... they're mainly referring to their chief main competitor... YRC.

News sources like TBP... Logistics Management and DC Velocity are company oriented which always shows the company standpoint and Judy's truth... which is ABF Freight has a competitive disadvantage because of its union labor force.

But here's the whole truth... and for that we have to go back to 2010 for and the sole reason of the lawsuit... this whole debacle of ABF Freight now having a competitive disadvantage due to it's union labor force reared it's ugly head when the IBT re-negotiated it's chief unionized rival YRC with wages and pension coverage to cut labor costs... then coerced it's members into accepting them. After all... this is nothing new... ABF Freight has always had a competitive disadvantage when it came to the non-union labor force just like with any union company... but what was new... the IBT allowing YRC to now be on a level comparable to it's non-union rivals.

If you recall... that ABF $750 Million lawsuit was against the IBT and YRC. IMO... just filing that lawsuit put ABF right back on the level playing field because ABF ended up with the cuts they were seeking too. So... in the end... all three involved in the lawsuit turned out to be winners... ABF and YRC getting the contracts they wanted and the IBT still getting their dues in every month. ABF now getting their slice of the pie and the IBT and YRC getting to keep theirs. That's right... all 3 parties involved in the lawsuit came out winners and the only losers in the whole ordeal... the YRC Teamsters and ABF Teamsters... which neither was part of the lawsuit... go figure. How's that for a backroom deal... and you sure can't blame Judy and company for that... after all... that's what they strive for. That's all on the IBT... they not only threw the ABF Teamsters under the bus... they ran them over.

I just hope that the ABF Teamsters will not just believe the company's propaganda now just because the IBT will be spreading it too. IMO... if anything... it should just go to prove that both... the company and IBT are now... once again working side by side to shove this contract down your throats. After all... your representative's responsibility is to present the proposal... not sell it!
