We are at a time where a driver can choose his company at will, minimum experience needed.
If you could add to your benefits what would you like to see included? Sick days? Personal days? More pay? More vacation time? Personally I think pay and personal days would benefit everyone. any ideas?

At least birthday off and a 4th week of vacation after 20 years would be nice.

I was thinking personals days would benefit everyone, that 4th week after 20 isn't doing much to retain anyone under 15 or so

More pay, the raise we got last year did wonders for moral at my barn. It doesn't take an expensive company wide survey to figure this out.

AS A TRUCKLOAD DRIVER...I WOULD LIKE TO SEE MORE MONEY, SICKDAYS AND EVEN ANOTHER WEEKS VACATION.
RIGHT NOW AS A EXPERIENCED DRIVER, I WOULD NOT EVEN CONSIDER AVERITT, IF I WERE EMPLOYED BY ANOTHER COMPANY AND LOOKING FOR A CHANGE. WE ARE AT A TIME IN THIS INDUSTRY WHERE IT IS A DRIVERS MARKET...INCOME, NON TAXABLE GOODIES AND WORKING CONDITIONS ARE FACTORS.

I'd like to see Averitt bought out by people that have a clue about how to run a company. Same old tired worn out, clueless people leading all of the company's departments that were there, and useless, 20 years ago.

I sure would like that 4th week of vacation, also 3 personal days and update the uniform program. Uniform allowance has been $150 for my entire 23 years and we can't get 5/5 for $150.

I worked for Thurston and Yellow Freight for a total of 38 years. The first 25 years, Averitt was the cream of the crop in regional trucking. Well dressed employees, nice trucks and excellent service. I actually told customers to use Averitt if it was a destination they could serve better than my company. They had a "no union" phobia, but that was the case with all non-union carriers. Their drivers were some of the happiest employees in the business. However, when the downhill slide hit Averitt, it was like an avalanche. It seemed like overnight the employees went from ecstatic to miserable. That atmosphere still exists today

I'm guessing "was" is the key word.

I can honestly say after 27 years at Averitt I am as happy as ever, making a killer living running Shuttle. I would like to see a 4th week of vacation and have our vacation pay equal our weekly salary. I lose 328.00 a week while on vacation.

The uniforms and the trucks are a giant facade. Senior citizens and dead wood running the company straight into the toilet.

Here's a benefit I think they should offer....... A promise to use current employees to their fullest before bringing in outside contractors or part time help. It's ridiculous to tell a shuttle guy to stay home and send Landstar out with his load, or to bring in part time work just because they are used to working 2 days a week and send your full time guys home early. I could go on with examples but it would be pointless.

Here's a benefit that would greatly help Averitt employees....Have a competent company buy out Averitt and replace the have beens in kookeville.
When I started in 95, there was a management (if you want to call it that) in place. Today, they are all still in place. Talk about a petrified forest.
