I agree with smoke and365Volare I hate to be last on the band wagon here, but don't leave because of this. There is always help (always) The TM needs fired for not helping, do you need to borrow $.25? Get the facts and call
 
Your manager cant force you to do anything that is unsafe. I would refuse to unload anything that heavy our center wouldn't have even taken that del out before they talked to the customer. Like Smoke said call the hill he will get his rear end chewed for that.

Talk to someone in Risk Management or Workers Comp dept. Tell them what you have told us if this is exactly what happened . Don't quit , I beg you to rethink this decision . You have a good job and future with Fed Ex Frt. don't let a crappy CCM run you off man ! I have had 6 in 11 years needless to say there were a few who hated me and I felt the same about them. They played all the games to tried to kill me with hand unloads , job sites and food warehouses sort and segs , but I survived and will not succumb to the ignorance of others that think they will force a good dependable driver from his lively hood. Don't run away.
 
stack, i'm currently going thu the same problem at my barn. can you tell me what the minimum stops per hour are to keep my job here?
 
Personally, I never did worry about "minimum" stops. Just do your best, and you should be fine. Some stops I know take an hour or more. Some take 5 minutes. They 'should' know what stops take longer...
 
seems as though our ccm is very concerned about awards at our barn. constantly calling us on our cell phones instead of using the blackberries. stresswhise this is getting to be too much.its as they want you to have an accident. need some input guys?

Too funny,
At a previous co I worked for I did alot of managment jobs like routing and such even though I was just a driver.
One manager asked me if I wanted to be in management, I told him no thanks, I have been here almost 10 years and have seen 6-7 managers come and go, I think my job is more secure,lol.

Do not give management your cell phone number i dont use mine for company business and have told our ccm so.When he first came to our center he asked everyone for theirs only a few gave them.If he keeps harassing you drivers you need to call Harrison as Smoke stated also call intouch and your HR person. We had the same problem but our ccm is not the same guy he was 2 and a half years ago he has lost much of his arrogance. It has taken a lot of calls to the hill to make him change.

1.5 stops per hour is the minimum. not hard to do.at my barn we have to punch in f2 so if we are not loaded that messes up stops per hour because you clock to the street but are on the dock.what i do is i make sure i put my lunch in my intermec and also under other activity i log my 2 10minute breaks because that take time off of your stops per hour.:nutkick:

When I was in the city we had some great numbers, they even came up from Harrison to study what we were doing and try to implement it elswhere, a short time later the City Ops manager was escorted to the gate.......... hmmmm wonder why?

The ONLY way I answer my cell is if it shows a friend of mine,,, OR if I'm broke down expecting a call back from Central... Thats it.... Period...
 
all the ccm must of had the same meeting cause at are terminal you go in to talk to the ccm about somthing the first thing out of his mouth if you dont like your job quit.......
 
You remind me why I am glad I don't work P+D anymore. 300# safe with no help, straight to the ground, OOps sorry! Heavy pallets on an incline, ohhh my back! I ride along, everything done by the book. I have to disagree about the cellphone, I write it off my taxes as a business expense, let them pay my cell bill.

I for one would welcome a rider. Even one of those college boys. My route runs into some parts of the city that are so dangerous the police wont go into unless their back up is already there. My rider could deal with the pistol wavers, the knife flashers, the 300lb welfare mother swinging table a table leg, kids throwing rocks, and dads throwing beer bottles and all the other more dangerous stuff too. It would be nice to have someone in the truck so scared they have pooped and peed themselfs like a little baby. And for once it wouldn't be me.
 
I just had a talk with my ccm about the phone. Per policy, no talking while driving. Evidently somewhere in system,(east) 2or3 drivers have recieved write ups due to talking while driving. Seems they were called in by someone out of the company. I dont answer phone, when I stop I check phone. It is against policy to use while driving, it should be against policy for managers to call unless you are shut down.
 
Intermec Or Cell

What is the difference between intermec handheld or your personal cell phone. My dispatcher said I never answer or reply to the messages they send me. heres you sign?? I AM STUPID hello mister safety man. I MUST BE DRIVING WHEN I SAY DEPARTING OR ER HOME . ARE YOU OUT TO LUNCH????? WAKE UP.
