Several of the nation's largest trucking and logistics companies were moving their equipment and employees Friday ahead of the impending landfall of Hurricane Ike.
Trucker YRC Worldwide Inc. which specializes in short-haul freight deliveries, has closed its two major facilities in Houston and several in surrounding areas, according to Mike Smid, president and chief executive of YRC North America.
