No one was injured when a semi truck caught fire on I-80 near Lansing on Tuesday afternoon.

The burning truck was reported about noon on I-80 westbound,a bout one-half mile east of the Torrence Avenue exit, according to Lansing Fire Asst. Chief Mike Winters.

The flames began somewhere inside the tractor, which was totally destroyed, he said. The trailer and the truck’s cargo of rolled paper sustained minor damage, he said.

No one was injured in the fire, which reportedly blocked all the lanes on the expressway.
