Danny C. Haffner
YORK Danny C. Haffner, 61, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, January 20, 2010, at his residence. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, January 25, 2010, at York Alliance Church, 501 Rathton Road, York, with A.J. Lingenfelter officiating. A visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at the church. Full military rites will be provided by York County Veterans Honor Guard at 11 a.m. at the church. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York, is in charge of arrangements. Born September 17, 1948, in York, a son of Velma (Tome) and stepson of DeWayne Framstead of Dover, and son of the late Charles H. Haffner, he was a transportation operator for Yellow Freight and previously had worked for Consolidated Freightways for 16 years. Danny enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle, driving Corvettes, attending sprint car races, and traveling. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War. In addition to his mother and stepfather, Mr. Haffner is survived by a daughter, Carrie R. and husband, Kory Bortner of Wrightsville; two sons, Caine C. Haffner of Frederick, Md., and Luke H. Haffner of York; three grandchildren, Ezra Bortner, and Dakota and Jackson Haffner; a sister, Donna C. Malleg of San Diego, Calif.; and a brother, Douglas C. Haffner of Dover.
