XPO | Insurance

The only thing that doesn’t make sense is their making record profits why are they passing on the cost to the employees. I thought the argument was that when a company does well it will take care of its employees. It’s hard to have faith in that theory.
Uh! You forget this is XPO? Definitely not the norm!

Seems there was a lot more changes to the insurance than a couple bucks a week for the premiums I’m hearing.

It’s the same at FXF. Our insurance went down the toilet and the ACA was blamed but the problem is we were never even close to “Cadillac” status. It’s all about corporate greed these days and the sheep don’t pay attention they just keep grazing.... it will be going up this year and the excuse is now “because everyone else went up...”. Oh boy....

Look at line 12DD on your W2’s, the Cadillac limit is $27,500 for families.... the number you see on line 12DD which is what you AND the company spent on your medical insurance premiums and it will probably be a lot less than the $27,500 limit so the company is more than likely feeding you a line of crap.

Amen brother......look over there shiny object!

They raised all the copays here doctors visits, specialists, urgent care and prescription drugs and the masses take and defend them for doing it during a time of record earnings. One can only imagine what they do in a downturn.

That’s the truth. You have some that will defend ANYTHING the company does... no matter the consequences to the workers.

Con-way tried pulling that ::shit:: also as an excuse

there are time a company needs to make adjustments because things aren’t good I get it. But this is not one of those times. Hold on people the party is only just begun . The salesman is at work. Look at that pinstriping never mind the bald tires.

CEO Comments

Bradley Jacobs, chairman and chief executive officer of XPO Logistics, said, "In the third quarter, we generated the highest revenue, net income and cash flow of any quarter in our history, and our $370 million of adjusted EBITDA beat expectations".

But yet they still increase your insurance cost.
" showing the love "

Remember there's a driver shortage and your in high demand .Nobody should be losing any pay or benefits in this climate.
It should be completely the opposite and we should be seeing real gains.
If you don’t hold yourself in high regard don’t expect others too.

(I posted this on another thread but I'll repost it here in the appropriate thread for all the guys that say "they just give us a raise and then take it back in the fall")

We got a 2.5% raise this year the insurance went up $2-$8 depending on plan plus they doubled contribution to 4% so actually I got a 4.5% raise. I'll take that. Some of us can do math but for those who can't. Make $100k plus 4.5% means you got a raise of $4500, take $8 a week extra for insurance means they took back $416. I think we did ok with that extra $4086. (I realize some don't make what I make as a linehaul driver but you can do the math for yourself with your own wages I bet it still works out in your favor.)
I think you need to add in all the increases in your copays to specialist , Dr visits , urgent care and not to mention you prescription drug copays that went up to your equation. Also your assuming you stay well and do not require hospitalization or longer term illness ( god forbid) that’s where our coverage ( particularly yours) really is not good and will cost you a lot of out of pocket.

Also the 401k increase is definitely a step in the right direction but new drivers have to participate ( contribute) to take advantage of that increase and unfortunately a large number don’t. It’s an less expensive thing for the company to put forth because there is not a large participation rate. Hopefully more will take part in it.

And what about those of us hired before 2010? Nothing, a new hire can put in 6% to 401k and get more back in company contributions than I can. How is that right?
Not true. If you got hired before that date you already get more than that.

Please people, know your compensation package even if you don't like it

And actually depending on when you were hired you likely get more than 4%

I get 4% for losing my pension whether I put in to it or not. New hires get first 3% at 100 and next 3% at 50. That equals 4.5%. New hires never lost a pension, New hires never lost a match. I did, why don't I get a match on what I contribute?

I applaud our company for making the retirement package better for alot of its employees. I am discouraged that those of us who have stuck with it through thick and thin, good times and bad get nothing more. Us drivers that had a CWX,CCX,CSE patch.

They also said new employees would not be auto-enrolled at a certain contribution % in the 401k any more. They would have to log in to set the contribution amount themselves to take advantage of any match.

Close- new hires get first 3 matched at 100 and next *2* matched at 50. So a total of 4, but they have to contribute at least 5% to get it.

So new hires have to put in 5%, then they get 4% from the company. And as you said, no pension.

You get 4 regardless of your contribution. But you could contribute 5%, even though you don't have to. And your pension is still there, even though it's frozen.

So you CAN put in 5%, but regardless you get 4% from the company. And you've got that pension money for a happy meal or something.

How are you not coming out ahead of the new guys in that deal? I mean, it's not technically a "match", but it sounds like the numbers come out the same. If you really wanted to get deep, we could talk about how that's a percentage of your wages and you're probably making a lot more than those new guys, at least while they're climbing the scale, so you're putting more in even if the percentage is the same.

Which also works to their favor of saving money because unfortunately a lot won’t and they know it.

Your premiums? If you work here shouldn’t it be our premiums?

Side note, I see your not missing comments that allow you to spread the union propaganda.
Ours did not change we our under contract negotiations . Ours stay the same as last year.
I’m sorry I thought you knew that.
Someone that is well versed will be along any minute to explain this ....
