Yellow | Is 705 following their work?

A supervisor told us today that with the COO they are closing Libertyville, Crystal Lake and Bolingbrook--All work will be thru Wheeling and the Ridge. If this is true this could result in major callbacks for 710 and 705 on the dock and for drivers I know Wheeling used to bid 75-80 on the dock when it was just Yellow, and I would guess the Ridge would bid what they are now at 309--360 on the dock! Some of the other threads are talking more road bids already--We could see alot of old faces back sooner than we think!!! It could be real interesting the next few weeks to watch this all play out!! :popcorn:3 profitable terminals into 1 unprofitable terminal. Those terminals do pick up a whole lot of freight though. I would be a lot better off.

Just my opinion....we are all gonna stay right here at 309 :grouphug:...but that is just my opinion.

Mango your opinion is VERY insightful. The people who are making decisions at YRC don't want to return to 301 AND are not going to. So let's give all our brothers and sisters that worked at the country club know as "the ridge" a :grouphug: and welcome them to "stalag 309". :nono:
FYI: RG is no longer denying a move to the Ridge now he says "I dont Know" when asked. A far cry from "have the Funeral already" He is implementling old Yellow rules and policies on the dock in a slow and careful manner. We are now using softlayoff boys as casuals to eliminate OT during the week by spreading them and 10%ers out on all shifts, Headload rules are no longer as loose as before we need permission be fore we make them, trailer to trailer bill movement is slowly being pushed, call-in time {2hour notice} has been shortened they now have to wait to see if the work is here, are all past Yellow practice--get used to it roadway we have the old CGB commandant now. Thats whats going on on the dock--drivers has anything changed for you guys, let us know!

I could understand reopening 301 IF we needed the capacity. But at this point the dock is under utilized and 309 has more doors than 301. And it is a lead pipe cinch that we are not in need of extra capacity for the foreseable future.
There is no room to move at 309, with 90-110 men on dock at peak it is a cluster fluck, do you know what your talking about? I doubt it, get the facts right before you talk capacity, volume ,space-----309 has 420 doors, 250 north, 170 south ..301 has 300 main and 90 on the city, the big difference is all 300 main at cgb are all under one roof, thus no 100 to 200 N-S shuttles daily which is why they closed the south dock at 309 and made it a city only dock in February, so the 309 is bigger argument is only in the minds of 309 junkies. Get over it, 301 is better in a logistic {location}and productive {no shuttle between docks} business aspect-- the only reason it was closed {301} was because PM hated all things yellow! Freight volume is here, 4000+ bills a day in Chicago, find another reason to keep the dump we call 309 open, besides your incorrect observations!!!!

I dont care where we are at.....how about YRC turn on the freight faucet again so we can have both places up and going! LOL as if that will happen.

let me understand here: correct me if I'm wrong please. You checked with the International and your source said that they were NOT changing their name nor were they closing 48 terminals?
