FedEx Freight | Is Fedex saving that much money on purchase trailers??

You don't go to the rail often do you? Majority of the ones I pick up are priority. They are supposed to do a lot of things but there's is no accountability. But still you don't seem to get the point of them creating the imbalance you keep repeating yourself about the pt I get how the pts work and the rails but they aren't sending the freight across country only about half way. Your points are invalid to the situations I'm bringing up. I appreciate the input though.
Often...no, I'm a road driver but I have been to the rail yard quite a bit.
And you seem to be convinced that the company "creates" the imbalance by the use of rail and PT's, that's where we disagree...rail freight is just a cheap way to move long haul freight (freight from one region to another) and PT's are used to offset the imbalance, not create one.
Just because I don't agree with you doesn't mean my points are invalid, it just means you're unwilling to accept alternate theories because you don't agree.

I'm telling you I know for a fact they are doing it in the NE didn't say it happens company wide. There's no alternate theory.

I'm going to go with since you're just a driver, you, like most drivers, only see what's on the surface...unless you have prior experience or possess the knowledge of a freight flow specialist, a hub planner, and/or central dispatch, then you really have no "facts" of what's really going on!!
Nice try though!! :1036316054:

I have common sense.... over qualified for those jobs. P.s. I had to explain the difference between a via and a turn to one of our central dispatcher good friends with two hub planners where do you think I get my info. Enjoy the koolaide trucker.

BS!!! You cited opinions and claimed them as "facts" based on your own experiences, you never mentioned dispatchers or hub planners until I brought them up!!

Slowly but surely the truth is starting to come out...just as I suspected!!

Calm your little internet muscles keyboard warrior they are facts look into all the cgt loaded on rails in snw and all the pt coming east. Why in the hell would I offer up who I talk to?!?!?

Take it easy, guys. No need to get out the daggers.

There is a freight imbalance in the Northeast. There always has been. That's why the Northeast is so often handled by carriers dedicated to that service area. Anyone in the business knows prying freight out of there is hard.

My guess at what you're seeing is the rail freight coming from significant distance, while the PTS is covering the imbalance created by so much long distance rail freight.

The reason no additional runs can be created out of this is because taking the freight off the rails would require using company teams like Estes or OD. FedEx makes most of their money on regional 2 day freight, so the investment in internally operated long haul freight isn't worth it to them. Running teams is hard, namely because finding teams that don't hate each other is hard.

CGT is the busiest hub in the system, what's loaded onto rails and the PT's they send east is irrelevant, SNW doesn't generate the volume of freight that they do...there's going to be an imbalance from SNW's end.

That's my point, you went through two pages of "your opinion" and only offered up your alleged "contacts" after I brought them up. I'm guessing you have no clue as to what's actually moved and to where, you only know what you see on the surface.

The freight comes from all over New England do I have to draw you a map!?!!!look it up. Judging by all the threads on here You need to get a life. If you take every word that the company says as gospel more power to you but if you think for a minute that a greedy corporation like this wouldn't sit home a few driver to save a couple dollars you are just out of touch. Redracer you are my hero I wish you well.

Ok the freight avoids Pos goes to snw gets loaded on the rail goes to cgt instead of running a Pos am run. Well now Pos doesn't have that much to meet Fre so cgt loads pt and sends around 20 pt to Pos.

They should make as many runs as two way freight would allow them run the imbalance freight however they see fit rail pt covered wagon how ever. We have guys that are willing to dedicate 30-40 years of their life to this company and to watch the younger/newer guys sit home and the company runs pt instead of our guys it pisses me off. I can't understand why more of the senior guys don't take a stand for these kids instead of going on forums and tell them rules are rules it sucks you should pick up more freight maybe.

It's just today's society people only care about their selves and screw the rest. Kind of sad.

If he is just a driver like you and I, Red, how is it that you, Red, see things in such great depth and clarity, while the rest of us mere mortals only see the ripples on the surface?

Well it could be that he tries to look at it from both sides and consider other ideas. Whereas you just hate the company in general without any real thought as to why.

You know, you don't know me at all and that guy in SDO barely knows me, and has seldom interacted with me at all, yet you profess to have all this knowledge about me.
Oh, I know....
It has to be true because you read it on the internet.

No that's not it at all, I've been reading your posts for over 6 years. It's true that I don't "know" you personally but you've showed enough of your opinions and thoughts to get good insight into you. You hate Fedex, you have ever since the bought Viking and know matter what you think they're stupid. That and your general arrogant attitude is enough to form an opinion.

But for the record you really don't know anything about the real me yet you judge.

You don't work here according to you.
That makes you a troll by my judgement.

I don't work there, I did but I don't anymore. I don't have to work there to understand what goes on. I have family and friends there, as a matter of fact I spent the day today with two Fedex drivers. Jeff has explicitly said we don't have to work there to participate in this forum so I will until I'm told not too, you're welcome to ignore me.
