FedEx Freight | Is Fedex saving that much money on purchase trailers??

If he is just a driver like you and I, Red, how is it that you, Red, see things in such great depth and clarity, while the rest of us mere mortals only see the ripples on the surface?
I dunno...I, Red, can't speak for you, RC, him, Fred, or the rest of the class. I will concede, as JD pointed out, that I have been known to play devil's advocate, not for the purpose of being a "Richard" but rather as an attempt to see and understand both sides of an argument.

I will say that with my 22+ years with the company and with CLT growing to become a triple hub, I've come to build a lot of relationships with a multitude of people, including our hub planners and our freight flow specialist...all of whom have held other positions within the company before taking on their present roles. Instead of just complaining, I ask questions in order to better understand certain situations and to seek solutions...if possible. What I've discovered over many years is that what we, as drivers (Fred, yourself, & I), see on the surface isn't necessarily the "whole truth" and there's usually other factors at play that easily explain why that "percieved" truth isn't whole.

IMO, if all drivers took advantage of our "open door policy" and actually took the time to find out the why to our questions (while decifering through the BS of being told what they think we want to hear) instead just believing what we "see" or "hearsay" from other drivers, we all would have a better understanding of why certain things happen and the reason to why they happen.

Take @Canadian Flyer for example, he was a contractor for FXFC and although he's no longer employed here, he has a better understanding of how we operate and why we do the things we do than most of the company drivers that still work here!! Why, experience and he ask questions instead of just believing what he saw....like myself.

In other words he goes in bosses office every morning and believes everything he is told even if he knows better or has seen it for himself. He couldn't speak objectively if he was told too, he just repeats what he is told and passes it off as his own.

Obviously you missed the part where I said "while decifering through the BS of being told what they think we want to hear"!!

You can just keep believing and repeating what your puppet master tells you to say...puppet, and I'll continue to rely on my own experiences as well as multiple sources in order to formulate my own opinions!!

You gotta remember CT hasn't been with the company very long.

Sorry Red your so gullible you will believe anything like when management told you to get on here and tell everyone we had Cadillac Insurance or you make 40 some dollars an hour. Your opinions aren't yours!!!!!! It's funny when you call someone a puppet because you truely know that you are the only puppet. They use and abuse you, wake up and learn to speak for yourself.

No one told me anything about our insurance, that was bad research and miscalculations on my part for which I took responsibility...which is more than we can say for you. As for my pay, my vacation wage rate suggest I make a lot more than $40 per hour!! :1036316054:

My opinions are mine alone and do not necessarily reflect those of my employer...puppet!!

Yeah no one told you to come on here and spread lies then when you get caught just say you miscalculated. Like i said you can't speak objectively never have been able to on here anyways.

Once again you have no idea how long i have worked here. Put it this way i have been here longer than you could handle it here.
Wrong on both counts, I know exactly how long you've been there, but I have to tread lightly one could wind up banned for getting to specific. Second just because I'm not there doesn't mean I can't handle it, that's an absurd assumption, There are plenty of reasons to quit a job besides the ability to handle it. Job satisfaction for one, money or benefits is another, not dealing with immature self untitled brats like you is a big one. Most any day at my job is more complex and stressful than peddling freight and bumping a few docks. I would like for you to give me a general idea what is required to be removed and what is required to move just a medium size excavator. Then go back at the end of the day and work on your own truck so it's ready for the next day. You drive around in your little Tonka truck and let me worry about the big stuff junior.

So you couldn't handle fed ex now your on here whining about your current job and your calling me a self untitled brat... seriously you sound like a pansy to me that couldn't tie my boots. Again you have no idea on how long i have been here all you have is second hand info but thats normal for you and "reds" so called facts that are strongly opinion based. Its no wonder why i quit responding to you for the most part your on here for one reason to be a drama queen and bring pretty much nothing to any conversation on the fed ex forum. Back to ignore mr troll.

I still can't figure out how you think I couldn't handle an easy job like yours, I did it, it bored the heck out of me and I moved on. What makes me a pansey? Backing a 65' trailer into a tight jobsite, unstacking it and building it, tearing down a machine in the mud or sun or snow, loading chaining and dragging 200 thousand pounds plus down the road just to do it again on the other end? Yeah pedaling freight is real hard. I'm not whining about my job at all, I like it very much. I enjoy the challenge, the different things everyday, I don't even mind turning wrenched or welding on things. So bring me your boots junior I'll wear them out and mine don't have to be black!

Nope, I've been a member on TB since 2010...long before you were hired on here...and no one has ever told me "what to say", unlike yourself.
I speak "objectively" quite often...again, did you not read where I said "while decifering through the BS of being told what they want you to hear"??

Nice try, puppet!! :1036316054:

I read just fine it doesn't change the fact that what you post is straight from the company. Wrong again better check your vast network of sources you know the one that can't show up to work on time and when he does, he is lucky to get his work done. That's some network you have :lmao:. Why do you keep calling me a puppet? Is your conscience eating at you because you know im right? When you start speaking for yourself you will gain my respect until then back to your clown show.

They would have to be paying less than 2.00 a mile to PT otherwise it would be cheaper to run empties. :scratchhead:
I talked to a Landstar driver and he said that the pay is under $2.00 a mile which is low but the fuel surcharge makes up for it in most cases. He said the surcharge is what allows them to find drivers willing to haul into FL and many other one way lanes.
