Out and about today, I just passed by a Chili's that was getting a lift gate delivery from JB Hunt DCS. I know that a lot of the bigger warehouses supplying stores have outsourced their transportation, but was unaware that anyone on this side of the business had. Anyone have any idea who's outsourced their transportation?

How about Webster trucking lost the C&S grocery account to JBHUNT DCS... Now Webster was a low cost trucking outfit so I can just imagine what JB is paying to haul the groceries...The race to the bottom continues...

That's what I'm worried about where I work. I work for a steel company. We are nation wide with are own fleet of trucks. I was told they wont or cant outsource it. But we'll see. Food companies like Sysco and US foods or GFS will never outsource I dont think.

Around here Ben E Keith has chilis, it may not have been a grocery delivery, but like Crazy said, the race to the bottom continues...

I saw the same thing in Garland, TX. JB delivering a Chilis with a lift gate at 11PM. I know JB is delivering Jack in the Box in Texas.

I used to see jack in the box get their delivery when I was doing jimmy johns in the morning, but it wasn't a dcs truck, but it was lift gate, he pulled the pallets off and took them to the back door, then I lost interest.

You just jogged my memory Roger, I actualy saw a dcs truck pulling a mbm trailer in okc, I didn't think a whole lot of it after I saw mbm trucks hooked to their own trailers, but now I'm wondering!

    A) MBM DC to DC move. To far to send one of their own.
    B) JB had a contract with the trailer manufacturer and MBM is getting new trailers.

I honestly don't think it was a DC to DC move. MBM covers a huge area out of there DCs and they have sleepers on there trucks for that. They have have 3 and 4 day routes. They shuttle trailers to a drop yard here in mn. And they are always hiring drivers here.

LOL. I thought the same thing, we'll all be working for JB. What is it with MBM always hiring at most locations? Bad job?

I don't know, I used to see them at Golden Corral in AR, the guy had a bunch of help, IDK if it was store employees or what, I used to run into a MBM guy out of Ft. Worth picking up a backhaul of chicken in Van Buren, he seemed like a happy fellow. I see ads in our paper, I live in Tulsa and they have a location in OKC, I guess they figure guys like to make long drives to work since they lay over, I don't know. It can't be that bad.
