Jefferies Net Income Increases 68%

What is the 13th check? Is that the cut the teasmers pensions are handing out to members? Or a bonus month paid to teamster bosses who collect multiple pensions? In some cases up to 5 teamster pensions?????? While thousands of retired or soon to be retired teamsters face pension cuts...

i dont think the Teamsters live in the real world...they must be feeling defeated with the YRC proposal getting shoved in their face...only time will tell how that goes

how that goes ? YRC and its Union Employees have done anything and everything to keep their company afloat during the worst recession ever. As far as im concerned even if you look at the concessions the drivers and dockworkers are still doing better than the current NCTY driver. With the new deal it gives the compnay breathing room to become stronger and stronger, but dont worry my friend if your a NCTY employee you'll be enjoying the fruits of all the hard work and sacrifice we have fought for over the years....its just a matter of days now :)

It wasn't the teamsters who deflated yrc, It was a man called Bill Zollars and his band of hoodlums. They should have never purchased Roadway and New penn. Both those companys always made money. Zollars way over paid for Roadway in an attempt to make one Super Carrier,

The 13th check is an additional pension payment given to the retired members at the end of the year. If the pension plans fiscal year end amounts show a substantial increase they pay out an additional check in lieu of awarding bonuses to the BA's and corporate management that run the union at their respective locals. Quite the opposite of what NCT does for their employees. The 13th check is by no way a yearly guarantee but it's always an option handed out by the locals based on fund performance. My dad has received numerous 13th checks over the course of his retirement from his local.

werble, you keep comparing the YRC situation to your own. One has nothing to to with the other. Local 107 is extremely solvent and has no intention of negotiating a contract for the employees at NCT which will be less than you already have. Seems to me you're looking for personal reconciliation for your NO vote. If it'll give you peace of mind, then have at it. I hope when you realize the mistake you made you and all the other " Character Actors " with thank the union for their efforts to provide you with what you deserve. If it turns out this vote falls apart then you can thank yourself for whatever hand you're dealt at the " Crap Table" run by the only dealer at the casino called Jefferies.
