What are you guys waiting for? Call Local 41 in Kansas City and Local 24 in Akron and talk to the organizers there and start getting cards signed to join the Teamsters Union! It's not too late to get some protection from the unfair layoffs and downsizing that is taking place at Yellow Transportation and Roadway and other YRC companies!

Remember that as "at will employees" you have absolutely no protection, no seniority, and no right to follow the work if it is transferred or outsourced offshore! As contractual employees you can negotiate into your contract protections for seniority, bidding procedures, right to follow the work to other locations across the US without losing your seniority, the prohibition of outsourcing of jobs offshore, etc, etc...

Don't drink the "swamp holly orange kool-aid that management is trying to get you to swallow about "we-ll look out for you, your job is safe, etc...."!
GET IT IN WRITING NOW, and don't worry about getting fired for standing up to management. If you can get enough people interested in joining the union, we the Rank and File can try to pressure our union leadership at the IBT to press for "card check neutrality" and you might not even have to have an election!
