Central Transport | keylon and his cronies on hot seat

Sure is and management also but like I said earlier since when does management hit trailer, not do a real pre t rip or post trip, run trucks into things? My tm is a jack hole doesn't know his azz from his elbow. so I just go over his head and do not take trailers that should be out of service. And he knows that! I'm not perfect we all make mistakes but I hate when people throw rocks at glass houses. Be the example! Not a pet or a kiss azz just do the right thing.
Some drivers and dockworkers are careless and do cost the company money, But we are held accountable while they get a free pass (as H.E. said)....And they keep making the same mistakes over and over...We the labor don't cost this company near as much money as management and their stupid decisions....In which they never learn....ANY ONE CAN MAKE MISTAKES...BUT ONLY AN IDIOT CONTINUES TO MAKE THE SAME ONES OVER AND OVER.

i love it when the bills say APPOINTMENT REQUIRED and there's no appt made and it's loaded on your trailer, or the bills that say LIFTGATE DELIVERY and it's on your trailer with no liftgate. then if these are on the tail of your trailer or the delivery has several skids and you're unable to deliver it, now you have to drive back to the yard and have it taken off.

I catch that most the time before I leave and take it off....What chaps my azz is when you are loaded to the back door and can't see whats up in front....When you finally are able to see whats up there you realize its a pallet that hasn't been strapped that was top heavy and it fell over...Now I have to spend the time restacking it and rewrapping it before I present it to the customer.

Wow always negative on this forum most of the guys on here talk out there azz's most don't even know what thay're talking about! Just his to show the reason this company is going down hill fast. You can blame management but when does the tm. Run brand new trailers in to things look at our truck everone has patches all over it because of hitting thing. Dock workers are the ones that crush freight. I think it time to pull everones head out if there azz's and look in the mirror not everone is to blame but dam this place won't get better if we all don't do our jobs if the other guys not doing it so what do your best.

I've been listening to all of this whining....but com-on has finally nailed it here! We have a choice. We can keep blaming management and cry about it on TB, while we go under. Or we can start takin control of our own destiny and start doing our jobs! Most of you guys blame management, but when was the last time you watched somebody tear up freight and just walked off? Happens every day at this place. Oh, let me guess, that would mean you are a "company man"? Nope, just means you are too weak to stand up and say something. Well then don't get pissed when they shut the gates, just start filling out apps at the next **** carrier

Good post com-on

I always say something when I see it....and they listen for the most part...I tell the supervisors...It does no good...You have **** poor managers that are scared to say something to guys that are twice as big as them in most cases....You got it wrong...They are the chicken shi$$.... period....They are too weak to stand up to them because they are afraid of getting their azzs kicked....and they would on many occasions....Most of our dockworkers are wound up tight and are part time....Meaning they have very little to lose. You think they are worried about Vitran calling the police...not likely brother...Many are ex-cons and don't care....Com-on nailed nothing except the fact he knows very little about our weak azz managers...Its not our job anyway....We drive ...They manage...They write letters to get rid of people that destroy things....Its not our job again....I do my job. And let me say this when I say something to someone about tearing up freight they listen, because when I say it i'm not playing. And I'm by no means a small man. I've been here to long and have invested to much time to let that stand. And believe me brother it won't.

I got a question for everyone on here, big city or small. I forgot which post it was but someone was talking about always getting a 53' trl and cant fit, and having the same frwight with the same size trl over and over. Now the question is, how many 32'single screw liftgate fllyers do you have at your barn. Cuz in nsh, they have none. Thwy had a straight truck that was always full amd kept in a certain area. I see all other LTL coms, with a crap load of them. Now big citys like chicago, atlanta probley have thwm, but dont you think it would make sense for all barns to at least have 2 flyers, cuz remember peps, the summer is right around the corner, and that means houghlin mifflin books, school specialtys books, so its going to be another summer of delivering books, in a rural area with a 53' trl with no liftgate. Now that is a management problem if i have ever seen one, becuz last time i checked drivers dont place orders for new trls. Hang in there train, dont let these young cats get under ur tough skin. So train when is the day i get mad props on tb? I got a feeling my prediction is going to be square on.......sad to say thou.

The problem is it's just too hard to do the right thing. At the age of 18 your considered a ADULT. Instead of being a adult its far to easy to be a child. As long as the paychecks keep coming in and clearing the bank most people just don't care. You see it all the the time. IF said employee gets their pee pee whacked they revert back to 9 years old and say "but what about such and such they did this and that". Then they get all butt hurt and cry. Not one person ever wants to admit that they are in the least bit part of the problem. IT'S WAY TO EASY TO GO ALONG WITH THE RIVER THEN SWIM AGAINST THE FLOW OF TURDS AND TP.

Two of the greatest Democratic Socialist accomplishments in America is employee owned companies and credit unions. I do not have a checking account number at my credit union I have a share holder ID number. If I worked for an employee owned company it would be mu duty to help manage. However, Vitran is based on a model of Capitalism. That means take as much as you can for as little effort possible...just how it works. It is entirely out of line for an employee at Vitran step out of his or her assigned roll. You "are just a driver". Mind your own business

Vitran is our business....And don't be a chicken shi!. to say something if what you are seeing is wrong...Just like stealing, not much difference.....The problem is it makes very little difference if management is not doing their job....its a up hill battle....Again its not our job....We are labor....It is their job to get rid of people that destroy things....SIMPLE AS THAT.

LIKE I said to many times I would see things that would change the company for the best. Always in one ear out the other. If they even listen. SO I just do it away from terminal. doing my job!

They do not listen because your opinion is not wanted. Vitran is not based on driver input. Vitran is based on those who own "capital" calling the shots. When you buy enough stock to sit at the table and help make desicions they will listen. Until then we talk about it on trucking boards. That is how the system works.

thats why the company is sitting where it is........... maybe a positive turn around.... with out total corporation it will fail.

I agree the "system" at Vitran does not work well. My point is that it is how Capitalism works. Vitran is not my business it is my job. My job is clearly defined in the policy handbook and I have no control over my job description. This why some ceos make a boat load of money and others get voted out. It is hard to run a company from the top down and get it right without those in the trenches having real input. Fake input is what we have here.

You are trying to politicize this forum....Maybe you should go on WDCATHL and bounce it off the Stone man..I understand how Capitalism works....You are being to literal in terms...We are team members and although we don't own this company we do have input. Your apathy I understand, but your overall attitude needs adjustment. Things can change...things can get better....Whether that happens here, can't say................But many companies thrive after making changes. You stand in judgement of something you clearly don't understand.

I JUST LIKE BANGING MY HEAD ON RUBBER WALLS. Like I said I still do my job. I don't have to explain my reasons , for my opinions. JUNIOR

Your the first to mention polotics. I am talking about the economics Vitran is based on. If you all would prefer not discussing the topic I will quit. However, I have have in no way been political.

I am however being literal because that is the way to get to true understanding. Others on this forum are frustrated with the lack of intrest by management in our input. I am trying to explain that. This is not personal just business.
