Socialism can never work because it's success requires some people to be stupid enough to work hard while others reap the same benefits. It goes against human nature and common sense, so Bernie doesn't have a chance of winning and the democrat party will never get their ultimate utopia.

So let me see if I understand , your saying that the progressives want the American worker to work for poor wages and no kind of benefit no pensions no nothing so that the progressives can keep us down and stupid in order to control us . Now does that mean that the capitalist republicans are just the opposite with the gold of having strong good paying union jobs with good pensions and a good standard of living ? And hows about all those good trade deals they signed up for that promote the American workers ? Maybe if I hang around long enough here on T/B I might get educated ,ya think?

yes, poor dependent people are easier to control
They want as many people dependent on govt as possible
Look at our big cities pretty much controlled by progressive Dems for decades. They keep promising jobs, education, this, that and it never materializes, but these people keep voting for the same progressive Dems each and every election because they fear their existence, their govt handouts will be taken away despite the fact that their condition has worsened.
The old Dem party believed in unions pensions and good wages, todays Dems just keep saying it to keep the millions of dollars from the unions rolling in, they don't believe it., In their eyes the only goodness comes from govt
If the left (Dems) really cared about the American worker, good wages, etc.... why then do they support open borders. You cannot on one hand cry out for better wages while on the other hands flood the market with cheap labor

considering a majority of Reps in power are as well progressives, they believe the same as the Dem progressives, see above.
People are sick of it, that is why Trump, Carson and Cruz are doing so well They are anti-establishment

Those trade deals are great, for everyone but the American worker

Thanks Bubba for somewhat of a reasonable reply . At least you came up with something that can be discussed where as there are some here on T/B that there is in no way to even try and reason with . To mention the first part to your reply was that there are a lot of poor people dependent of government . How many of those people at one time had great middle class jobs with pensions etc but because the decisions made in the board room to move to cheap wage jobs countries are now at a point where things aren't so good for these people ?
When they find jobs those jobs pay much less than the old job even in the same field . I think Bill Zollars is a good example of a joint venture and capitalist . Yellow and Roadway and certainly Holland were some of the best around till Dollar Bill found a way to break his labor force and at the sometime lined his pockets and laughed all the way to the bank with millions he suckered out of the employees . I think Jim Walsh and his hippie side kick need's to be looked at now . I think that the progressives do talk a good game and I think that they mean well . Now the other side knows that if they can cut wages and perks that will make it much better for the bottom line . I do not see where the progressive are supporting the TPP but their all lining up on the conservative side for the TPP . And your correct when you say that the TPP is bad for the American worker . They are going into this already knowing that many people here at home will be displaced like the poor class you mentioned b/4 . Think they wont be taking money out of S/S and Medicare to pay for this training abomination? Then be crying that we don't have enough in the S/S and Medicare fund.

sad to say from my inner city example, not too many
we have gone into generational welfare
Grandma was on it, momma was on it and now I am on it. That is the sad part
Most of these cities have been controlled by one part for decades they have run out business with high taxes, lots of regulations etc..... thus those that are productive and can move, have.

Now to the second point, yes boards make decisions all the time regarding costs
Our state and federal govts have acting like the city councils and have over taxed and over regulated to a point where companies need to look at other options to stay profitable. The reality is, if a business is not profitable, it does not stay in business (for the most part will not address the cronyism of the major banks or of GM). Sadly the "easiest places to cut are wages and benefits, especially with the glut of labor we have out there at these time. Which is further being exasberated by this govts open border policy.
