It's a shame that all them American workers willinglly alow Foreign Corporations more political/ economic voice in their localities, state and our country than they themselves have......They never wouldve needed Fanny and Freddy if they stuck together and resposibly decided their demands for pay and bennies instead of letting the market decide....The antiuniin politicians are the only real beneficiaries of antiunion legislation apart from the corpirations they serve. And those corps dedicate to no location.

No, I would attribute that more to the Democrats...starting with Jimmy Carter who floated the idea, then on to Bill Clinton who put the idea into law....and let's not forget Barney Frank and Chris Dodd who made sure the law was enforced. It's called the Community Reinvestment Act, or in simpler terms, the idea that everyone could/should be a homeowner.
I'd say it was the bursting of the housing bubble that was caused by the CRA which destroyed the economy that led to the high unemployment numbers.
I'd also say that the lack of education would also be a contributing factor. You can lead a horse to water but you can't make him drink.

I'd say it has nothing to do with the fact that 97% of the companies in NC and 96.5% in SC are non-union.

The increase in most public assistances is most probably the direct result of American workers opting out of their political/ economic voice which is the unions.IMHO. If needs are met in the market through union contracts, public assistance isn't necessary.

Your so far off base that I'm not even sure why I'm responding....but here it goes....the only part that the unions had in the collapse/recovery of the economy was the FACT that they received the majority of the Dictator's stimulus money to shore up their bankrupt UAW union pensions! Were they really "To Big To Fail" or was their bankrupt union pensions really "To Big To Fail", either way, the taxpayers ended up losing $10.5 Billion on GM alone!!!!!
Had EVERY American employee worked for a union company it wouldn't have made a difference, NOT EVERYONE CAN BE A HOMEOWNER!!! It doesn't matter how much someone earns, people aren't responsible for their own actions....that's why 90% of lottery winners are broke and back to work within 5 years!
IF your worried about foreign corporations, ask your Liberal Senators to quit siding with that dumb mass in the White House and quit raising the corporate tax....then those companies would return to the U.S. and they wouldn't be foreign anymore!

So I guess with the dumb mass Commucrats agreeing to bailing out unionized GM and their unionized pensions with taxpayer dollars only to have them move a lot of their operations to China without paying back the American people is MY fault? Got it!
Again, you need to lay off of the union Kool-Aid!!

Your economics taught that we could not help our businesses yet decided to allow foreign countries ship their products here. Japan looked out for her people. So too does China. They poor money into theifr companies constantly and always have. YOUR teachers disallowed that until it was too late. 40 years too late.
A nation is formed for its people to benefit most. We did under union influence.
Now only the banks( your economic teachers) benefit most.

Did you really believe that we could financially compete against socialist and communist and third world countries?
Did they forget to tell you we couldnt? The unions tried to tell you but you listened to the same people that brought us here.

" steel imports steal jobs" they tried to tell you in the 70's. And as the union jobs left for business friendly antiunion states the defense against imports , banks and Wall St. was weakened farther. Unions are capitalist here also. They know tthe real game better than you. You follow ideals designed to take from you. Now they took number one world economy and gave it to communist China. The only way to compete with them is to either be like them or stop freetrade and uniins are the only ones willing to do tha5. You help the side which knows our standards will drop.

The story said tax cuts don't work Red its a lie they tell. It said China has 25% and we've had 18%. And your new CEO is involved in TPP negotiations for himself and investors without input from American workers. You need to organize to stop them at your personal employer and that can help curb the madness of the elites who are destroying us. Add the Great Betrayal to your political economic library.

I saw nothing in this story that said anything about corporate tax rates and whether or not they worked, however, I did take the time to look up the numbers for 2014...U.S.- 35% (the highest of any industrialized country), China- 25%.
Although the story did say that the TPP "will boost U.S. EXPORTS and lower tariffs for American goods in the fast-growing Asia-Pacific region", I personally don't trust any Commucrat, especially that dumb mass in the White House!
No where in the story did it mention our new CEO, is this your own personal opinion?
Again, no need to organize.

What do tariffs there matter? If we cant afford our products, how can Asians?
They cant.

The 18 &25% tax was in my link which said China just took The worlds largest economy.

I missed the 18 25% thing when I read the link you posted, but I'm pretty sure the US has the highest corporate tax rate.

If we cant afford our products.

We can afford our products, we just aren't willing to pay the premium for them in large enough numbers to tip the scales. Too much of our costs are in labor and taxes and not enough in quality.

We thought putting an import tariff on Japanese bikes back in the early 80's was the solution. In 1970 H-D has 100% of the US market on bikes over 1000cc. In 1982 they had 15% of the market. H-D kept building what they wanted to, not what the market wanted...and their sales plummeted as their costs continued to rise. Their answer was to lobby for an increase in import tax from less than 5% to almost 50% on import bikes over 700cc. That's when the Japanese responded by substituting 700cc and 600cc bikes for the 750cc models and there HD was, back at square one.

You fix the root cause, you don't tax the crap out of everybody else. When you do that, those that are being unfairly and heavily taxed find ways around it.

You don't want China to be number 1, pay more money and buy American made products.

Yes it is 35%, and that is too high (I like the "Fair Tax") Many complain (point out) that with write offs, deductions, credits etc. many corporations pay less than 15%, or even zero, in the case of some. That is the argument that is made.
