I joined the Teamsters Union in 1974. After experiencing two strikes, twenty years later in 1994 I tried to lead by example.
My conclusion in 1994 was never again. Imo, in 2019, most of the members will be to busy staring at their phones.

I am planning on not being in this one.
Retirement. But if I can vote. I will. I won't know how that will work.

That's why half joined in those days. They didn't volunteer. Wouldn't work today, which is obvious, by the numbers..

Our area, companies were still using Pinkerton style tactics, caused a lot of backlash.
