This sounds to me like a lousy way for the feds to shut a company down. Why wouldn't they just go to the terminal and notify the company instead of waiting around the corner with the police?

Adams says drivers were completely caught off guard the morning of December 29 by the enforcement action from the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration.
"They pulled out of the terminal onto Williston Road and didn't get very far up on Williston Road before the DMV and Williston Police pulled them over," said Adams.
The first company officials heard of the immediate shutdown is when they say drivers called them from the side of the road. Operations grounded to a halt as drivers pulled over in some cases leaving their rigs and their cargo at truck stops. While company officials admit responsibility for the violations, they say they were working to correct them to try to avoid a shutdown. They also say they were unaware that the feds no longer allow an extension to let companies operate during an appeal.

There so many anti truck groups putting tons of Political pressure these days. As far as not knowing, they were given 60 days to respond from the audit and they did not. This was clearly on upper management , and as far as the Jersey locations they are close for good.

they did submit in time.. however the holiday got in the way before they addressed it and put them over. still company should not of waited so long to submit. hopefully they can save the company... many people are depending on it.

For years they have been substandard, it is all very very simple play by the rules EVERYBODY else has to and does and you don't get shut down. Land Air now passed Central /Vitrain in the bottom feeder category , congratulations you are number one. Even IF they can get drivers a conditional safety rating will never support a customer base.

Compliance with complex burdensome Federal regulations is much more challenging for smaller businesses that can't afford to hire huge staffs to oversee compliance. It's like the impact Dodd-Frank had on smaller banks, it put many of them under. Big companies can afford 100's of lawyers and accountants, smaller companies can't. Not an excuse just the reality. This out of control Federal Gov is sucking the air out of our economy. By the way, RECESSION is upon us, act accordingly.

stop it with the "poor little guy" argument for a company that had 83 million in revenue, then thumbed their nose at the FMCSA regulations. this company drives by families every day with shoddy equipment and drivers. the other companies can handle the regulations, if you cant figure out how to get your ::shit:: straight with 83 million, they deserves a shut down...

I'd bet they're fudging the books.

Obviously you've never run a business.
