Today is April 28th.. It was the last "official" day we were open as "Overnite Transportation"... Monday we will officially be UPS FREIGHT! .. But--- Is this good or bad?

NOTHING has impressed me yet.. The new insurance is complete crap.. Management is telling employees that the insurance is both 'better' and 'cheaper'.. If you add in the life insurance option, it is very close in price-- around $50.00 a week for medical + Dental and Optical, which comes out to around $60.00 a week.. I'm not impressed..

Why not pay $55 A MONTH for union dues, and get better insurance that is paid by the company?

UPS has made it clear that "they don't care", and that there will be NO PAY RAISES until the cost of living raise in January.

Why isn't UPS giving us better benefits?
Why isn't UPS giving us a Pay Raise?
Why can't my terminal manager tell me just how many companies UPS' non-union pension fund involves? I would like to know how many companies are involved? Does anyone know?

Does UPS want us to get pissed off and vote the Teamsters in?
 
From the last boards wasn't sure if we could agree on anything, but I am ready. Pie-the-sky!!!! Not sure they want us to. What I have seen, heard and read, it's just not there. But do you think we have yet to see the true UPS colors or does all this still have the Onite spin on it?

If you think we are not getting a better plan then I'm not going to try to convince you other wise. I think it is pretty good. But like yourself not everybody will be impressed.:duh:
 
I am just sitting back and waiting..

Whatever happens, is going to happen..

Our terminal manager has told us that 70% of the employees that work the dock have LESS THAN 2 YEARS with the company. If I remember right, it was right after we were lectured for something like load quality, dock production, misloads, or keeping the dock clean..

What do you think the reason for telling us about the 70% statistic? Is it because he was using a scare tactic to get the employees to work harder with threats?

One thing we NEVER hear anymore, is WORK SAFELY.. It seems we are all just a number-- nothing better than a freight moving machine.

Hopefully we can get together and at least explore our options-- I am ready to listen.

Have you recieved your packet in the mail yet?

Have you personally read over your insurance options for yourself?

I have a special needs child, and I must have insurance that will cover his needs-- I am going to have to pay more money to see his specialist, and now we are back to the Primary Care Physician (PCP) garbage.. Just like the Aetna HMO plan.. My credit report is FULL of bills that went delinquent because the insurance wouldn't pay in a timely manner. I am completely SICK of calling and checking on if this or that is covered by our sad excuse for insurance..
 
Sorry to hear about insurance problems. But its my understanding of the meeting the new insurance adressess needs like yours.
I didn't mean to come on to strong about people not being impressed. I know there are different needs and people need more and better insurance than I or someone else might need. I guess I to am sitting back and waiting.
 
I would like to carry on this conversation with you two but don't feel like my words are worth responding to. Not being a butthead just I know you two are on the same team as me and need some opinions. I wont go away mad I'll just go away.LOL

UPS don't give ,THEY TAKE,Union dues,[tax deductabile],absoulutly,'bring in the horses' BROTHER,I'LL even be the jocky!:ShakeHandsNah: :rofl2: :moon2: :bigfinger: to 'O',now,not to long,UPSF MANAGEMENT,who ever really needed ya?
 
My TM told me when UPS first bought Overnite last August,that UPS already owned 70 companies and a bank.
Don't ask me where he got that information? But as far as he knew the package division was the only ones union.
Who knows if my TM is up to date or he's full of hot air?
I've found over my years in the trucking business that most TM's were just big liars,and you've really got to weed out everything they have to say.

I've caught many of them in their lies over time.
Whoever isn't truthful has to have a good memory to be a good liar.

been hearing the same thing,MANIAC,seems their worried about trashed freight/claims:nutkick: ,but hurry up,safety isn't an issue[unless someone gets hurt,their fault:nutkick: ,of course]always been like that around here,pay lip service,thats all.:biglaugh::rofl2:or should I say it's'safety ,safety,safety',as long as it does'nt interfere with the numbers,it's all about the ####$$$$$$$
 
Lot's of good ole.............bs...........that's what it's all about. Almost makes me feel like I'm back in the military. Lie, cheat, and steal. Just make it look like it never happened. Once you are brain washed......it comes pretty natural....but what am I talking about?

You don't know how true that really is @ UPS !!!
But look on the bright side... As screwd up as our military can be ( at times ) , they still get it done .
