Today is April 28th.. It was the last "official" day we were open as "Overnite Transportation"... Monday we will officially be UPS FREIGHT! .. But--- Is this good or bad? NOTHING has impressed me yet.. The new insurance is complete crap.. Management is telling employees that the insurance is both 'better' and 'cheaper'.. If you add in the life insurance option, it is very close in price-- around $50.00 a week for medical + Dental and Optical, which comes out to around $60.00 a week.. I'm not impressed.. Why not pay $55 A MONTH for union dues, and get better insurance that is paid by the company? UPS has made it clear that "they don't care", and that there will be NO PAY RAISES until the cost of living raise in January. Why isn't UPS giving us better benefits? Why isn't UPS giving us a Pay Raise? Why can't my terminal manager tell me just how many companies UPS' non-union pension fund involves? I would like to know how many companies are involved? Does anyone know? Does UPS want us to get pissed off and vote the Teamsters in?
