Came from a Indy driver he said they laid off two linehaul and 3 City drivers

It starts at the bottom unless they have a good paper trail on their problem child, then They can get rid of him (her). If you get two or three IRF's for small things, look out cause somebody is building a paper trail.

That's sad to see during a time we should be cranking up. Unfortunately the economy didn't take off last spring like everyone had expected and the continued sluggish economy is starting to put a strain on the bottom line it appears. Being an election year doesn't help at all. Hope it gets going soon.

Over-hired????I dont work for OD but that is a problem at most places.Where I work(Estes),we are not breaking any records but it seems to be steady(South).

Estes in Cleveland Ohio has had its city drivers on 4 days for some time.

Last several weeks up to this one we're all right, stayed in the system all week. This week was pitiful, 3 days line and one in the city to bridge the gap. I'm almost done with this crap, got some feelers out.

The problem is that you have to hire when you are busy to meet the service demand of the customer, but when freight levels drop like they have, you just can't use the same number of people. I know it sucks, hang in there guys. I went through it with OD in '09, but was able to move to another center to stay with the company. I'm glad I did.

Why is it always the president, the governments fault? Why can't it just be slow for some other reason, like overpricing, poor service, or the traffic manager didn't get laid?
