Anybody have any idea what we pay for light duty work? Somebody was telling me around 12 bucks an hour, seems kinda low but any info would be appreciated.

I thought that it was required by law they pay you for 6 hours of your normal pay and you had to be at work for 8 hours to get it.

It must pay better than that, everyone here seems to want to be on it.

It's a bit more difficult than linehaul, especially running to MEO. They have to fold straps.

Sweep the dock, or shuffle paper. This is true, I set my CMS and the truck does the work. Why should I kill my self.

I just came off of 12 weeks of light duty. They had me sign papers that I would only get 2/3's of my base pay....$18 and change an hour for 8 hours a day for 5 days a week. That's $150 a day and around $740 a week. After taxes and all other deductions...I took home around $425 a week.Man, am I sure glad I'm back to work and off that light duty poverty pay scale.

Dog... I work in the Northeast, (New England). Oh and is this an OD site? Sorry, didn't mean to intrude into your world, it's just when I was surfing trucking boards and I saw a 'Light Duty' thread...well, I just had to say something. By the way, I'm employed by XPO Logistics LTL, formerly Conway Freight.

Light duty, job injuries fall under "workman's comp" laws, varies by states, yet usually 60% of gross, up to a max amount. Can sit at home unless declared by doc for light duty. Each terminal is different. Remember about 10 years ago a guy sitting in a unused guard shack with radio and waved at drivers coming and going all day. Talked with him cause it surprised me to see someone in it. They just required him to be on property, had nothing for him to do, so what he did for 4 weeks. Also know a guy who reported in every morning, after an hour was sent home.

Reason why Aflec or other supplemental insurance exist. Make up the difference of lost wages. Last employer offered this. About $4 a week. Took last 8 weeks average, subtracted workman's comp payout, paid the difference plus travel expense to rehab, etc. Hurt shoulder, so got this for 7 weeks. Do wish OD offered this. It was for work related, and off duty injuries. Guy broke leg playing softball, got his full wages until healed and paid his company insurance premium while injured. Unless in group sponsored, it's can be costly.

Most of Aflec's profits goes into DUCK feed, do you realize how many ducks they feed?
