Light in windshield

We have a driver that puts a yellow light in the windshield of his truck. I've seen others going down the road. What's the meaning behind it?

We had a driver do that. ... it was to set himself apart from the other super truckers so they could talk to him on the radio.

Dont know about all them colors, but we used to run very small purple lights on the dash to reduce nightime glare on the windshield.

it usually means it's a particular driver, that the others know, to differentiate him for the other company drivers.

however, i was almost certain, no lights were allowed anymore.

i will not look that information up, as i think it was something i read, but might not be able to find it again.

Years ago we called it a "Freight light". Several ABF, Yellow, Big R, CF, guys would run them and they would usually be running the low side of 19 on the CB. I think now it's just to show they're running a radio.
