Does anybody know what current scale is for a city driver in Local 705 at ABF? Also, any other useful info on work schedules, layoffs when its slow, stuff like that. Thanks

We have a national contract , Brother, so barring a possible differential in a few areas, our wage is $24.10 until 7/1/17, then it goes to $24.70.....your defined-benefit pension payments,...... depending on Supplement, are roughly another $240 a week.

Time and a half after 8 and 40.

There is no " health insurance" taken out of your check on a weekly or monthly basis...... company carries entire cost regardless of your family size.

Hourly wage is lower than most non-Union companies, however factor in pension and overtime, average it out over the year,.....and it will put you somewhere around $32.00 an hour.......Plus nothing is taken out for "healthcare"......no "mandatory" 401(K) either,.....your choice to participate, or not.

Thank you for the information brother. I believe that I will transfer over to city next year. I'm currently OTR with ABF but I have found that information is hard to come by. To many people are secretive about this. I'm not sure if it has something to do with two locals being in play at the same barn. Regardless, I appreciate the info. I'm looking to have more of a normal schedule than what the road offers. Even though I will be at the bottom of the board, I believe the change will help.

If I had it to do over, I would've done 705 rather than 710 at 034.

I hear that more often from many members. I wonder if 705 is ok financially?

They seem fine, financially. It's more the otr lifestyle at 034 that made it a mistake. You just become a zombie, they work you so hard and at irregular hours.
