(CNN)A blimp associated with NORAD's surveillance of the East Coast that became untethered from its mooring in Maryland is now on the ground and authorities have it secured, Pennsylvania State Police told CNN.

It seems that the blimp traveled about 150 miles in three hours in a northwesterly direction. Just imagine if the typically prevailing winds from the west were present and took it out to sea. I wonder if they're embarrassed about it at all. If it wasn't so costly to us it would be funny.
