r bill count has dropped on a consistant basis for 3 weeks now. we had 38 bills last night. next week looks like the same. this george bush economy sucks!!! go to prisonplanet.com to see why we r all screwed eventually. check out alex jones' "ENDGAME, blueprint for global enslavement" you can get a copy from amazon cheaper and then watch it and make as many copies as humanly possible. alex encourages all of us to copy ENDGAME and give it to all the people we know. we need to start a revolution and take back our broken country. the north american union is coming soon. the dollar will be no more. make room for the Amero. if u think im nuts, look all this stuff up on the internet. our union jobs r all at stake and so is our kids' futures. keep out of wal-mart, dont buy chinese goods if at all possible. "made in america" needs to fill our docks again.

I agree

I agree about the G bush economy! and yes it does suck. We need a president that says America first. our people first. our lives first!

Don't get me wrong. I support the needy, the suppressed . But we are sending out more money to foreign countries , and nothing for the poor in this country.

Here is one example . In my paper I read an illegal girl from south of the border needed a liver transplant . The first 4 did not take. They are doing another . For free to her. To you or me. We have tax paying people with health care coverage that get denied , have no money to pay for that operation and die.

Yes we need a revolution . Our country first. We need a president to tell big business to put there co plants back in America . Or we put higher tariffs, higher taxes on them. Lets take back America.

Give me a freakin break. What the hell has Bush done to cause this slow economy. Fact is presidents have no control over the economy, and shouldn't have any control or say. We have a FREE MARKET system. Walmart isn't the problem, nor is so called big business. This economy may be slow, but still pretty good. Stop your stupid whining about Bush, big business and so on. Buckle down, save your money and wait for the economy to come back.

HMMMM...........spoken like a true republican.STONEY ABF...........sound's like your alittle to close to the bush family.Well let's talk about the war "BUSH" has us in.Umm where is all this WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION he claimed they had, here's another one how is it that IRAQ was behind the plane's going into the tower's when it was reported and confirmed that most if not all of those terrorist were from saudi hmmmm. What was bush before he got into politic's?How about "OIL" does that ring a bell,i believe that oil companies are big bussiness, are they not?You claim that we should quit whinning and just buckle down and save our money.WOW.......there's a concept........ARE YOU SURE YOUR A TRUE TEAMSTER.And not just one of those republican terrorist running around pretending to be one.

Why don't you clowns take your liberal caca and conspiracy theories over to the politics forum? I thought we were talking about slow freight! I get enough of this garbage when I open up my liberal rag every morning. Since when did being a true teamster have anything to do with being a quack?

Do you live in a time bubble:hide:Where is the economy doing good?? Sure,I service a few companies that are very busy and are doing well [seems most are in womens cosmetics]but for the most business just sucks.Walmart is part of the problem, they go into the local manufacturers and offer all this business all they have to do is come down on the price a little but overall they will make it up with the volume.Wrong:chairshot:Once the vendor gives up most of his other business then old Walmart comes in and tells them they want a better price or they will have it made in China for a whole lot less, and thats what they do. Another local business closed and more people out of work.Bush wants a global economy and that is what he driving this country toward..Look around you,the highways and roads are falling apart but we can spend all this money on rebuilding Iraq, the same time Iraq takes all there oil money and put it in the bank...Sure your right,we do have a free market system but sometimes things have to be controlled and Bush has done none of this.I am a registered Republican and to me he is nothing more than the little rich kid that was given something to play with and he broke it....Getting back to the thread slow bill counts I believe it is all the companies are slow, and I don't believe a new president is going to help it no matter who wins the election..Everyone thought that once the NMFA was settled that we all would be booming with freight and that has not happened...Bring the price of oil down and the economy will return and everyone will get back to work.let oil prices keep rising and the economy will get worse....Sorry Poptart didn't mean to go political but I thought StoneyABF:chairshot:needed an answer....

I agree with you !!!!!Part of the problem in this country is the Politicians who will not allow us to get at our own oil...Off shore and in the Alaskan Wildlife refuge... They for some unknown reason want us to be dependant on oil from the nut jobs in the middle east for our oil... Don't even get me started on the Global warming NUTS..The liberals are determined to desroy this country...

Ok to EasyMoney and Crazy. #1 I wasn't evening talking about the war. And no I'm not in a bubble. 99% of mortgages are being paid on time. Our unemployment rate is at 5.1%. We still have a positive growth in the GDP. We're still growing just at a slower pace.
Yes Bush is an former oil man, and oil companies are big business. And you know what? So the hell what? I don't care how much money big oil makes. In the early to mid 90's they were swimming in red ink.
And to Crazy. You say you are a republican, but say somethings have to be controled by government. Like what? Oil prices? Oil prices are set up by supply and demand for one. How much Walmart can profit or cut there prices? So you want government telling Walmart how to run the business. Thats not a free, open market. Thats socialism.
By the way, I'm a 3rd generation Teamster. So don't challenge me if I'm a true Teamster. My grandpa and father just taught to think for myself and don't believe what is said by other drivers or dockworkers that don't know a damn thing about what there talking about. For the record I'm not a Republican, I'm a conservative.

As far as Walmart goes I personally wish they would just fold up and let the locals have there businesses back you know the ones that folded because of Walmart...and your right the government shouldn't tell them how to run their business, and I know the big oil companies don't have a lot to say with the price of oil but they make more when the prices are driven up and again,I don't think they are trying to keep them down..Oil is a commodity that the investers are making a ton of money on and they will come up with any excuse to drive them up,ex.It's going to be cold in the northeast and demand is going to be high so lets raise the prices to offset the demand=higher prices but,the demand was actually lower so reserves actually went up,less demand, less profit so they bid up the prices anyway.Yesterday someone attacked a pipeline in Nigeria result oil went up by three dollars a barrel. This is where the government should step in and say enough is enough put caps on it drive the prices back down and the economy will get better..by the way although I am a first generation Teamster I also come here with a long family history of union members:funky:
Try to think how our industry cherished when trucking was regulated :hide:Remember what happened when Carter[Democrat] deregulated the industry so I would take it you approved the way the gov.stepped aside and made the trucking industry a free for all..

Back to the original post......38 bills in one night?????? Time to look for a new job. It may just be company management. That's where I'd look first.
We average 650 bills most every night (and that is not alot for us) but we are in Atlanta and a different company.

I always laugh when people bash WAL-MART and then five minutes later complain that the cost of every thing is going up and say that most people can't afford to buy anything. WAL-MART is only in business because people quit shopping there local mom & pop to go to WAl-mart. There are communities where WAL-MART has not been successful and that is only because the local people didn't support them. So if people truly don't want this store open don't shop there and tell your neighbors not to shop there they will close but also be sure to explain to everybody that they should all be prepared to pay higher prices and to spend more on fuel because they will probably have to go to multiple stores to get what they currently get at one store.

How we forget, It was the great liberal Bill Clinton who signed NAFTA. and he also sold this country out to the China and you have the nerve to say anything about Bush. You have the congress controled by the democrates and they have done nothing except make us ashamed to say they are our leaders. But let me ask every one of you how many take time out to vote if not shut up and stop whinning

Actually, yes I think deregulation was great for the trucking industry. Yes I know thousands of union jobs were lost but it got the government out of trucking, at least as far as pricing and such. Before a trucking company only had rights to run loaded in one direction but had to come back empty. Example: ABF could run a load from Ft. Smith to say Denver. But had to run empty back because they didn't have rights to run east from Denver. How stupid was that?
And companies could finally compete with each other on pricing. An open market.
And just a question. Everybody always talks about how Walmart put all the ma and pops out of business. Makes it sound like they put a little tiny general store out of business. But the truth is, that in most places the ma and pop is a store like Safeway, Albertsons, Kroger and such. Last I checked these are pretty big operations. Walmart just had a better business plan.
ABF, Roadway, Yellow are pretty big businesses just like Walmart. Why arn't we complaining that these companies are putting smaller trucking companies out business? Because we have more money and can withstand the higher fuel prices. And yes I vote

Actually a generic form of nafta has been around prior to the REAGAN years, Bill may have sighned as such, but every president back to carter has had a plan in action if not the same .

Remember when JAPAN was taking this country over? It was actually the Swiss at the time, the japs hit the limelight.

All Billy did was keep this garbage rolling. Our current blunder of an administration did the same.:smilie_132:

I agree, allthough I believe in the free market, all we have at this point is total market control, we fought this kind of oppression with a tea party in Boston MA. and I think it is time for another.:smilie_132:

Just a stupid Question:smilie_132:..You think it was alright that 1000's of teamsters lost there jobs because of deregulation??what you don't see is the BIG picture.. Every year our membership[freight teamsters]goes down, sure the IBT gets a few new members here and there but they are not putting into OUR pension fund and they will most likely get the same medical as we have even if the contributions are a little less. Here is question number 2 :smilie_132: What shape do you think our pension and welfare will be in say 10 years from now???As far as walmart goes it seems you don't have a clue:chairshot: but this is not the forum for that discussion...

yeah your right bush has done nothing, bush is just a puppet for cheney who profits from us being at war. politicians do not care about us regular people they just make speeches to keep us at bay all they do is make moves to make more money for there bank accounts.

Well let`s see....what was this thread again..... oh yea, slow freight, I almost forgot. From what I have heard freight is a little slower than usual for this time of year. I`m sure fuel prices has something to do with it. People budget their money for gas so there is less for other things. Spend more on gas less for other commodities. Higher fuel costs,Higher shipping costs, higher prices on everything. It`s just a trickle down effect....oops back to Reaganomics.....crap!

Bottom line Reagan"government is not the solution to the problem , government is the problem" they over regulate every part of society .the y are the ones who approve of a walmart being built here or there, they are the ones who say if a oil rig or refinery can be built. they tax the snot out of people and tell you lies. the answer to the economy change the people in the government to people who listen to the public they represent not the special interest .the iraq war now that it is started must be finished not left. oh and at my terminal our sale dept has managed to increase revenue by getting new accounts including one that ships out 3 53' trailer loads a day.if you are slow at your terminal it is because your sales dept is not being pushed by corp enough or threatened with their job to get new stuff no matter how hard it is in this d*mn Bush economy.
