HAGERSTOWN, MD- The accident happened around 2 a.m. near the Hagerstown Billiards on the Dual Highway.

Police did find the car involved, but still aren’t sure who was behind the wheel. Officer Wayne Hose swerved out of the way and was not badly hurt.

"Due to his actions of trying to avoid the accident, he probably saved some lives last night (Wednesday night)," said Sergeant Paul Kifer of the Hagerstown Police Department.

City police found the truck minutes later at the Martin’s parking lot. "There were two male subjects standing around the vehicle, and when we got there, both of those males were intoxicated,” said Kifer.

Police didn’t arrest them. They couldn't prove the men had been in the truck.
