Sysco looks as though it will have to wait longer for its $8.2 billion US Foods merger to be approved by regulators, if it is at all.

I just talked to my Union President and he said Sysco is selling off some assets, however the FTC, SEC, they have not made a decision regardless of what assets Sysco is willing to part with.

I'm hoping for a big fat NO

at this point, some of the barns are hoping yes, as it has screwed up enough business to scare off former customers.....

this is a done deal. us foods has sold off 11 opcos to pfg. mostly western stated affected. corona, san diego, san fran, denver, kansas city, cleveland are some of them. again, these are usf houses, not sysco

I figured that they would start selling things off, warehouses as well as customers. I wonder what happens to the USF houses that are union, does PFG have any barns that are teamsters?

USF lost a HUGE account in WNY to a tiny foodservice player. they would barely be considered a competitor to USF or Sysco. I think they are sandbagging it, and getting rid of valuable accounts, only to know they will be able to swoop in and snag them back after the merger speedbump....
