If 2 Holland trucks,(Freightliners), left South Bend, at the same time, both pulling 35,000 lbs, both traveling the same route, both going to Tomah, and both stopping for break at the same location, and the only difference is one truck runs 68 mph,and the other 63 mph. How much sooner would the 68 mph truck arrive to destination, than the 63 mph truck? In minutes.
Impossible to answer, I know how much it varies with two trucks that both do 63mph because some drivers make wise use of every minute of every night and some drivers waste so much time it is not funny. Theoretically I suppose it would be about twenty five minutes, but the most important part is that this might leave you with time to run an Appleton or Minneapolis as a second load instead of going to bed in Tomah. That is where the driver and the company would benefit greatly. Plus contrary to managements opinion, it is incredible how much easier it is to stay awake when you are driving 68 instead of falling asleep doing 63 watching all the smart LTL company drivers flying by you. Many more guys run into the back of other trucks and almost die like the YRC driver ten days ago and maybe they will catch on that driving 63 in those smooth riding Freightliners with no radio to help keep you awake is just a recipe for disaster. But what do I know....I didn't attend one of those fancy colleges!

same route & stopping for breaks same time , BUT Hard charger Joe ,left break early to try & bump guy for outbound load ,while Pete stayed on break longer to flirt with the chubby waitress , so with that being said the 68 mph truck was there 45 mins sooner ! p.s. waitress name was Debbie , think she's from Dallas ?

23.19 minutes

I’m still convinced clock time has a lot to do with it. A driver who stays with it all night long with a 68 mph truck after the course of a 10 hour night is gonna hit the clock sooner, getting layover sooner.
