A man escaped injury Saturday after the truck he was driving was struck by a train on Highway E in Menfro.
According to BNSF public relations director Joe Faust, the accident happened at 12:35 p.m. July 1.

Harry Loida of Perryville was the driver of the truck which was struck.

“The train was traveling from Chaffee to St. Louis,” Faust said. He said the crossing was equipped with a flasher and gate.

“Aparently the driver of the vehicle stopped before entering (the tracks), then pulled forward,” Faust said. “The truck then pulled forward and the rear was struck.”

Faust said Loida was issued a ticket.
