Up in the snowy cold north country where I deliver a route for UPS Freight the company doesn't care about shinny shoes.
safety steel toed shoes are required,but we can wear shoes that will keep our toes from freezing no matter the color,or if they are shined up or not.

In the no-snow warmer part of the year,its shinny brown,or black safety shoes.

Although your right about all of the apperance rules.
When we Overniters were going to be rebranded over to UPS Freight.
These rules hit us like a ton of bricks.
But in a short while we got used to what UPS wanted us to do for them.
Its like anything change is hard at first.
After a while you just do it without thinking,anything about it.
UPS has their name on our pay checks now.
So its their way,or no-way,bye,bye,find another place to work.
