I just got back from here...posting it because it is the largest free music festival in the nation. it's always good imo. free music everywhere around town.....hundreds of free shows.....The really big acts have a fee as you'll see if you look at an artists time and such...This year paid acts were Jethro Tull and Santana...You get a few big acts like that..most of the others aren't as well known but they are very talented from all over the nation...maybe some from out of the country....Nice arts and crafts....More of an adult thing unless maybe kids are in high school, and really really into music if anybody would stay the week..i live less than 20 minutes away but I post this for anybody who is really into music It's also right at the Sands casino if you're into gambling.....but if you're into walking around and seeing lots of music this is really cool....And there's good food but the food isn't cheap....but what food is cheap on a vacation?
Anyways if music is your thing...this might be a cool vacation for you....Drinking all over town is acceptable as long as you don't get too out of hand....I don't drink but figure that it ain't cheap either. It's always a noce crowd....not dirtbags or mean and nasty people...Lehigh University is nearby as is Moravian college...Cool old architecture also and there's probably tours of the Old Bethlehem Steel also.
It's over for this year...I post it for anybody who might plan next year...It's like a 10 day thing. goes maybe noon to midnight all over town all week long.

I used to go every year back in the 80's when I lived in Pa. I'm sure it was a much more modest event in those days. Don't really remember too many acts I saw, but it was a great time. Saw Ray Charles there in some kind of lower field, he was amazing. Don't know what it's like now but back then you could park within a block or two on the streets in the residential neighborhoods and walk in

Yes you can walk if you're early and you can park a distance out...Martin Towers, being one, and charter busses bring you in and they run constantly back and forth.
