I predict our stock will go up. And even in a bad economy we will do better than most think we will. I also predict the rumors of us closing will stop. And the spot light will:biglaugh: point towards other trucking companies that have financail trouble. We will do better, while the truth about other struggling trucking companies becomes the daily news. I predict one or more of our competition will close or merge with another carrier in an attempt to save themselves.

I also predict that a lot more terminals will either close or consolidate. Possibly USF will merge into YRC.

So they will become lean and mean.

This is the mistake they made not doing all this much sooner.

It will hurt some but has to be done for the good of the company.

Maybe the new board of directors will be sharper than the knuckleheads they had.

hey skeeter??
do you understand that there is no longer a USF??
there is only reddaway and holland.2 seperate trucking divisions
under the YRCW corp.if YRCW were to merge any of the regionals into the national division (YRC) they would loose every bit of the regional freight to conway ,fedex and old D.the reason reddaway, holland and newpenn do so well in the regional freight department is we UNDERSTAND HOW TO SERVICE OUR CUSTOMERS AND NOT COMPLAIN ABOUT DOING EXTRA WORK TO GET IT ON THE TRAILERS.without the current employees working the regional freight you can kiss any type of return on investment (merger) goodbye.YRCW has no capital to attempt another merger.:ranting2:

I see it all under one roof and one name in the future.
Dock,city,office, shop all together
Why do you need two different propertys in the same town ? Cuts costs ?
Better utilize their equiptment

You guys are a bit late with this kind of talk Yellow and Roadway ran in the same lanes and often were at the same customer at the same time, YRC should have merged them years before and they would not be in the same up side down shape they are in now and as stated before Reddaway and Holland, New Pen are specialists at what they do and there will not be any merging of these companies as the Brand name has a meaning.

I thought you had your head screwed on straight. Sooner or later, you have to pay the piper, and YRC's just fending off the piper as long as possible.

Well this just in and happened Wed. 1-13-10 Friegthliner refuses to sale parts to Reddaway because of YRCW finnacial situation we were told our acount has been put on hold and they will not sell us any parts on our acount.

You are right, YRC needs to put more on their regional carriers and quit trying to nationalize all the freight. On time and no damage needs to be the priority. And from management to dock workers we should get rid of anyone who is not on board to succeed. This is not a union / non union issue it is a survival issue and we need to focus on that. We have all lost money and jobs this last year, Union and non Union and those of us that are left need to work on surviving. The last time I checked there was no difference in an unemployment check for a union employee vs. non union employee and survival depends more on service than union affiliation. I wish everyone at Reddaway a great 2010 and I hope we can bring back many who have been layed off.
