Ha! Ha! Ha! This is funny! On a truckers crusade. I can't take it.:hysterical: That 'over time' line sounds like some leo suggs nonsense.:hysterical: I need a shot!:biglaugh:

"Where's the Truckers Crusade?" :horse:

"Overtime"... in the words of our BA: "This is what we are Paying for"

Just stating the "Facts"... man... "Just stating the Facts"

Tenetive Agreement

According to my Local, a tenative agreement has been reached by the IBT and UPS, regarding a UPSF contract. No specifics were given. Our BA said that all the Local Presidents are going to D.C. to review the contract, which I believe was this upcoming Tuesday. After Hall and Hoffa sell this to the Locals, I'm sure it won't be long before our respective Officers return and talk it up with us. Remember, if you don't like it, you will have the right to vote NO. We have come so far. Please do not settle for less than what everyone else is getting regarding wages, benefits and work rules!!! Lets use our new Company motto on them, We are the "Best of the Best", so we deserve the best!!! :1036316054:

It was done a very long time ago. I believe for the most part. What you and I have been experiencing is an effect called a smoke and mirrors show. This was and is the plan from day one of the purchase. Mike E. and Scot D. said it was and it is. It just needed a little time to cultivate and embed its way into this once hayseed backassward company. Now its a clear shot back to the clubhouse. Game over. Don't forget to vote!!! :biglaugh:

Then we should have the best of the best contract as well.

If it is not good VOTE NO. We lasted this long whats another year, they cannot fire all of us.

That is not really going to inspire the troops. I've been threatened enough. If anyone wants to be a martyr; I will add your name to the last verse of the 'International' song.:hysterical:

Tentative UPS Freight Agreement Unanimously Endorsed at National Two-Person Meeting

March 25, 2008

(Washington, D.C.) – The tentative UPS Freight Agreement was unanimously recommended at the national two-person meeting today by representatives from locals that have submitted cards from UPS Freight workers to join the Teamsters. The agreement will be voted on between now and April 6th in union halls nationwide by UPS Freight members.

Teamsters Package Division Director Ken Hall went over the contract in detail during the meeting. Afterward, several union leaders praised Hall and other IBT officials for crafting a plan that facilitated the process of signing up 9,600 UPS Freight workers in 90 days. There are 12,600 UPS Freight workers eligible to become Teamsters.

During his address to the crowd, General President Jim Hoffa remarked on the large number of UPS Freight workers who had signed cards since Jan. 16th.

“90 days, 9,600 new members. That is an historic and defining moment for the Teamsters,” Hoffa said. “This is the Teamster way of providing job protection and good benefits for workers.”

“I came out of freight, and I have spent a lifetime representing freight workers,” said General Secretary-Treasurer Tom Keegel. “This is a real break-through in this industry. This victory demonstrates to other non-union workers the value of a contract in the freight industry.”

Hall said the number of members currently signed has far exceeded his expectations.

“This is the best example I have seen of this entire union working together,” Hall said. “Our local unions have absolutely done an incredible job of going out and signing up these people.”

The contract covers workers in dozens of local unions, and will go into effect once the UPS workers ratify it. The agreement will be in effect until July 31, 2013.

Gary Witlen, Director of the IBT’s Legal Department, explained to the local union leaders how the vote must be conducted.
