who all is using these new handhelds? having any problems? what you think compared to our old ones, besides the size and fact that yrc wouldn't allow us to write new programs for old ones to upgrade them for how many years...

So Kearny is using them about half the drivers have them. Some issues, they are supposed to charge in the cradle of the tractors not in the terminal and they are not charging properly in the tractors. But the tractors in So Kearny are 100 years old. Guys having trouble logging on or getting reception. It's early though might need to get the bugs out.

They have also installed new time clock where you put your finger in and it uses biometrics. Not live yet.

haven't heard any complaints about charging issues or trouble logging on over here at 03... seems like you hit enroute and nothing happens hit it again and again, than all of a sudden it arrives you... that type of stuff. if your off to a stop and they decide to change you don't know till your either well pass or at next stop to see the changes...was on vaction the week they went out, came back they just handed it to me , said it works like the old ones...so its been hit or miss some days...

If it's anything like ours they'll never get the glitches out. Just keep in mind while you fiddle with it you are still getting paid.

Started using them at 10 couple weeks ago. They are lacking some of the features the old ones had on them.A little more tedious navigating through.I think. The big reason for the new technology and it runs off the verizon network is so they now know where you are at all times.Just like your cell phone can be tracked.

Put that tracker on the companies money....so we can watch what is happening with it at all times.

There's 2 sides in this company and world....not just one.

just cause they know where I'm at doesn't get the freight delivered or picked up. all this tech no matter how advanced doesn't change basic trucking 101. but they don't seem to get that .the real npme ran more efficiently with less tech than anything close to the way it operates now with all this added so called, generation skipping tech, is the way yrcw put it.....it doesn't matter, everyone who has been here for any amount of time sees what a piece of :shit: company we are any more...its going to take more than there big time tech to ever change the way this place is heading...
