Congrats! Just take your time until you are comfortable.I've only been here 6 months and at first it seems like a lot to take in but after a few weeks it's nothing to it. If you have dealt with obc and e logs it will be easier for you than it was with me. Just never get in a rush because that's when accident's happen and they don't expect you to get in a hurry. Were you line haul or p&d?

Thanks for the words of encouragement in my 10 years I've done both p/d and linehaul more linehaul than anything else I pulled long tandems for the past 5 years

Don't worry, after your first day all of the anxiety will be gone, and you will be full of excitement.

Please report back to the thread on your thoughts from orientation. The difference in how the drivers are treated, versus most truck driving jobs will be painfully obvious in just the first week,

Congratulations, and enjoy the ride !!!

The difference is like black and white nothing but respect. You are spoken to like you're a human being. The place is amazing.

It will take some time to adjust, I have been here for a year now and I can only say that your going to enjoy it. Go after one delivery at a time, forget the ltl mindset of running hard. Those days are now over...wait until your out with your trainer and he is showing you how all of it goes together.!

I have to laugh at all these union LTL drivers reluctant to make the jump over to Walmart because of "Hometime". I'm home more now than I ever was doing LTL. Just reading earlier posts from Cracker and Pyledriver and the likes, from the time of their phone interview through their hiring process. Sounds to me like they are much happier now than they were with their LTL jobs. I know I am

It's been almost a year and the only regret I have leaving YRC for Walmart is why I didn't do this sooner!!!!

I have that exact feeling. When YRC put their name on Holland, I should have left right then and there.

It will take about 6 months to get things to smooth out for you. You will get a system down pat and things will start to click in place for you.
