actually our driver heard they bought a truckload carrier,but didnt know who.

USA trucking has nothing to do with ABF. Arkansas Best Corp(ABF's parent company) has 3 subsidiaries. They are ABF Freight, Data-Tronics Corp and Fleetnet America. They used to own a truckload carrier called Clipper Express but that company was sold a while back

usa truck and abf must be just real freindly then, cuz i have a friend that drove for usa for a while and he was allowed to take his dot breaks at abf terminals.

To update the rumor... it appears to be US Express that is being purchased. It makes sense, too many current sub-carriers have drivers without haz-mat certs. This really effects the service of our west coast lanes. Also, I wonder how the epa engine requirements for next year will affect our equipment pool. Buy a fleet instead of adding new equipment? How would it change the cost of our west coast lanes bottom line if you (Con-Way) have 100% control of a sub-carrier (US Express)?
