Gives new double meaning to the term "foreign power" - which is exactly who is going to be pulling loads in and out of there.Woo Hoo spend that -15% and can we transfer up there ??
Speedy Transport has been running Holland's Canadian freight since the divorce with TNT in 1996. Holland only has a sales team here.Gives new double meaning to the term "foreign power" - which is exactly who is going to be pulling loads in and out of there.
They didn't. Speedy did.Wonder how they recruited enough men to open a 60 door terminal? Must not be accessible to truckingboards.
Not unless you want to buy your own truck and give up your union card. Speedy is 100% owner/operator and the dock is non-union.Woo Hoo spend that -15% and can we transfer up there ??
This had nothing to do with the IBT or YRCW. Speedy Transport opened that terminal on their own more than a year ago. There are no union employees to "thank" for helping Hoffa win. And I doubt James Welch has ever met Jared Martin, Speedy's president.Throwing a "bone" to the Canadians from Welsh appease the grumbling minions at YRC and a bit of a reward from Hoffa for the last election support?
"Let them eat cake"...........".used for talking about the attitude of someone
who really does not care about a group of peopleor does not understand their problems although the pretend to."
Quote is commonly but erroneously attributed to French Queen Marie Antoinette during the French Revolution when her people were starving.
Seems to rather fit both Hoffa and Welsh.
Not a single penny for this facility came from YRCW.
Spend that money!
Then why all the "hoopala" with the ad sporting a USF Holland header stating "Operations will begin at OUR Ottawa, ON terminal on Mon, May 1?This had nothing to do with the IBT or YRCW. Speedy Transport opened that terminal on their own more than a year ago. There are no union employees to "thank" for helping Hoffa win. And I doubt James Welch has ever met Jared Martin, Speedy's president.
We are an independent company. We haul our own domestic freight as SZTG, but we also act as the Canadian agent to several other US carriers. HMES is just one.
OK, I believe you. I remember when TNT split off from Holland becoming USF, but why is YRCW trying to make it sound like a new "grand opening", if it's been there for a long time already? That's a Speedy terminal, guys. Just like all of Holland's Canadian terminals. It's been open for over a year now and YRCW didn't spend a single penny on it.
Because Holland did not have a local sales office at this terminal yet.OK, I believe you. I remember when TNT split off from Holland becoming USF, but why is YRCW trying to make it sound like a new "grand opening", if it's been there for a long time already?
It's no problem! We used to provide agent service to Red Star before they closed, and to NPME until last year when they switched to a partnership with Dicom Freight. Thanks Canadian Flyer for straightening this out. I've been at Holland 28 years and never new this.

They are. It's not unusual for that to be the case up here. Are the city drivers owner operator too?
