It would be interesting to know if this was Fed Ex Freight or Fed Ex " Ground ".. Big difference in the quality of drivers. Either way, this is horrible and my prayers go to all involved.

I went over there, and yes many of the comments are out of line. I feel for the families of those that lost their lives.

This is a very sad situation and now witnesses are saying Fedex was on fire when he came through the median. The news just keeps getting worse.

I was thinking that the fuel tanks were damaged as he crossed over the highway through the trees .

Maybe just my opinion, that burn-outs in most trucking crashes are the result of fuel additives required by law.
Due to years of environmental wackoes whining to the government to make trucks safer.

Why I remember back in the days before additives were mandated,I saw with my own eyes.
When a mechanic tossed a lit stick match in a bucket of diesel & it smoldered a bit, then flickered out.
Now days the least little spark will cause diesel to ignite.

I think folks need to find a hobby to occupy their minds & leave the trucking industry alone.

Gee Apostolic,...I don't know. A guy mowing his lawn saw all this from ground level? We should wait for the investigation to be completed. We both have been there, done that and have the tee shirts, I'm sure.. You don't over correct like that when the lane you need is occupied. Then cross into and over a 60 ft. wide grassy median into oncoming traffic without braking and counter steering. I told myself I wouldn't comment on this horrific tragedy, now I have to ask the Lord and everyone else to forgive me. I'm sorry.

^^^ I find it funny that guy looked up when he heard screeching tires yet seems to recall details from seemingly before the crash even began to happen.

Wrench97 has an insightful comment about these newer designs over on the YRC Board thread about this tragedy. It's not just the low sulfur fuel. Check it out.
