WATERVILLE – Cleanup is continuing at the site of a tractor-trailer wreck on Interstate 40.
The vehicle plunged over an embankment alongside the Pigeon River near mile marker seven close to the North Carolina-Tennessee state line. The truck was eastbound.
Crews on the scene are unloading the truck, which descended into thick woods, prior to pulling it out with a wrecker. The tractor-trailer was carrying auto parts.
Two people were in the tractor-trailer, and at least one was taken to the hospital, according to reports from the scene.
