It's oficial, our FOS announced it, our pension is gone. What good is working here anymore? Conway will be a second rate job without the benefits. Time to either leave or call the union.

Any questions about the pension please read the following post and do the Google search it recommends... Your pension CANNOT just be yanked without cause... It can be frozen or Cashed out but they cannot simply say "too bad you don't get it anymore" at least not with the very good financial position the company is in...

Well if they need cause, they must have found it. That is if this is true. Again leaning on your pension is like leaning on your social security. All in all we will see one way or another soon

Ahh...the all knowing FOS. And where did he get his information from? Until it is released by the HR Department as FACT, it is just another unsubstansiated rumor.
 
ok guys this is ridiculous !! why is everyone worried about somethnig that hasnt even happened yet!!?? look the fedral gov't is passing new law that goes into effect jan 1st of 07 that compnaies and corporations HAVE to turn their pensions over to a private holding company, T. rowe price for example is our private holding company. once all the money is there it will be up to US to decide wether to put our share in pension or put it in the 401-k.you guys can thank the corrupt officals at enron for this. but please lets not spread rumors and conspiracy theories untill we get the facts from "the big meeting" .
i dont like it know more than anybody else but there is absolutly nothing we can do about it .

Its better to be ready for war and stand at the ready then not to be prepared.Plan for the worst,Be happy and breath easy when doesn't happen.We have a great many facts.You can too if you do some research.Nothing we can do about it.That is I have lost before the fight has begun attitude. The S.A.S have a saying ,Who dares win.We our share holders and we can make a change if we stand together as one.Working together for a common goal.So come on board and stand tall.

They will talk about it,They will hint about it and when it come to who has the stones to do it.1 or 2 lamb standing alone on the chopping block.With 2 or 3 guys saying I hope someone dose something.This is the ugly world of the lunch room hero.All talk no baseballs.

What are we supposed to do, call when the times are good? Things are still ok, but getting worse, thats why we're looking into it now, before things do get really bad. Anyone have any info on what we should do?

I think it is because Con-way only picks on a couple guys at a time and most guys are in there comfort zone and are use to what they are doing, making decent money, not sick at the time so the healthcare does not bother them, so it takes the company to do something bigger to get everyone fired up at the same time.
