Every company nitpicks little things directly after a raise or when things are slow. Things shall resume back to normal In a month or 2 hopefully.

The law is that everyone must be using them by the end of 2017. If you are using them now, they must be correct. It's the same as cheating on a paper log and they are being audited by the DOT. It's a lot easier to audit a data base than it is paper records.

If you get a violation, how long do you have to wait to get a clean slate? Is it 6 months or a year?

Heck, I forgot and moved 1/2 way around the terminal, hooked to a trailer and then remembered that I did not do my pre-trip. Entered it in and never got wrote up.

Supposedly when they put the cameras in, they're gonna tighten up the peoplenet "recording in progress" alert and the camera will record what you are doing. It will go straight to safety. Then you'll get a phone call. Another driver with a camera in his truck already confirmed this to me. Dunno if it was a bs story or not.
I have a feeling, the safety Hombre is fixing to be a busy man in the upcoming months

The peoplenet now starts recording if you follow too closely for over 30 seconds or so. OBC Headway Event I think is what it says. When the cameras come it'll all be tied together.

Mechanic in Atl #2 told me last week that they are putting cameras in the shop. Said 6 per Bay. That some company came to shop to give estimate of price.

They should put cameras on the fork trucks , that'd be a great video to watch.

Saia is still in the honeymoon phase of their ridiculous camera infatuation. They haven't even finished retrofitting the trucks yet and everyone is already jumping ship over here.

Bottom Line is that you have been trained on how to log in and out. Just do it right after you punch in and before you move the truck. Get into a routine and stay with it. Estes has no problem with writing you up if you screw up your routine.

I'm at OD and I noticed for the first time that our new Peoplenet units are doing it too... even if the beeper isn't going off from the radar warning system.

Interestingly enough people are getting away with moving their trucks around with out being logged. Wait till they start paying attention to that.

We have a dock worker that jumps in a truck several times a week to peddle freight and make pick ups , all without logging in.

I see mechanics jumping in trucks and driving around the block without logging in. I also seen guys jump in trucks and move them out of the way to get to another truck without logging in. What about the extra board, lay over guys, what are they up too? I bet ya they are running around getting food and such, not logged in! I've had enough of this!!!! It's time to put meters on the beds!!!!!!! I'm thinking from the time you pull in the driveway in your car you are on duty! For safety sake people, we need cameras on us while we are off duty, making sure we are sleeping! I seen a guy the other day sitting in the truck eating a piece of cake smiling, BEFORE HIS SHIFT STARTED!!!!!!! My point is this, you can't intake that much sugar and expect to be safe and efficient . By the way, the cake had a Big E on it!!!!!! I'm like boxer, during the week I refrain from sex, sugar and M.A.S.H. episodes. Have a good week guys, just remember big brother is watching and reporting all that eye see!!!!!
