He belonged to the communist party for a while yes but, does that really take away from what he stood for?

Pete and Woody stood up for the working class. Pete sung for labor and organizing. Know your history, know it well.

RIP, Pete. You were one of the best and influenced me greatly in how I perceived things around me.

And he spearheaded efforts to get the Hudson River cleaned up from pollution also.

The only drawback he had was that he supported Tawana Brawley just a little too quick to jump on the bandwagon.. Other than that I believe he was an outstanding person and a true supporter of the little guy..
